    That's a good question.

I had in mind that we would be starting at the gatekeeper which would put us West to East but there was no reason behind it. What were you thinking?

Im not too sure honestly. They both seem fun directions. Going West to East seems cool in case theres a last minute decision to run John Bull or Gold Mountain

P.S I should have my new lens in by then, hoping there's time to play with it on the trail

That's a fair point. Depending on how long the day is, people willing to separate and hit another trail can do so. We'll start at the gatekeeper and run West to East.

That's one of the downfalls of the San G campground location. It's a fair distance from the technical trails. The best way to get to Holcomb Creek is through Green Valley lake, which is on the other side of the mountain. It's a fair drive to and from. We realistically should be starting earlier.

Whoaa, just saw where the San G campground is. It does look a bit far. I only have my site at San G for Saturday night, so I'm pretty open to starting whenever. I can spend the night at a yellow post site a little closer. Is the plan to roll out of the San G campground at 8? Or be at the start at 8?

Yeah, it's a drive. The plan is to have wheels rolling at 8 from San G. As much as I'd like to leave earlier, I know this crowd and we are typically pressing the last few vehicles to get moving, myself included.

With that said, we do have enough to run two groups so if there are individuals that want to get moving earlier we can.

Do you recommend full skids for this trail? I'll have sliders by then and am already on 33s and have a rear locker. Debating if I should put my name down for your run.

Yes, I’d recommend skids. I would probably say go for one of the lighter trails until you get some wheel time. Gold Mt and Heartbreak are both great moderate trails to get some experience on.

Awesome thanks. Shoot me a PM if you go out to either of those anytime soon. Would like to go with someone who has some experience.

For those of you that are looking for spots. There are a few options.

    1. Barton Flats campground. It’s about 1/2 a mile away & it’s a few dollars more. You’ll be away from the fun but you can still wheel and not have to drive home.

    2. Group osoo campground
It’s walking distance to our campground But it’s a “group” campsite 1 fire, no privacy, tent camping & $330.00 per night 19 trucks 75 people park in lot camp in a flat spot.

    3. Group Lobo campground
It’s walking distance to our campground But it’s a “group” campsite 1 fire, no privacy, tent camping & $330.00 per night 25 trucks 100 people park in a spot camp in a flat spot.

    4. Talk to the camp host to see if there are any cancellations.

Options 2 & 3 are like a school camp out. The parking is not near the flat camping spots.
