Alright guys! Hopefully the community here can give me some feedback on what I've done so far and drop some ideas on anything I've overlooked.

I rebuilt the engine in my 4x4 98 tacoma (2.7 3rz) because the head was cracked and #2 cylinder needed bored due to scoring. Figured what the hell and had the machine shop bore all 4 cyls out 2mm (.080") and installed the countershaft delete kit. I've got the bigger pink injectors from an 04 to put in and just got my TB back from maxboreinc.com where he bumped it up to 63mm and built a new butterfly. I've hot tanked the intake plenum and ported a little to match the new TB but nothing major and nothing done into the head (I've got the 8port intake)

So my question is, what else? I know our ECU is stupid simple and I can't go in and fine tune the fuel mapping but I dont know if there's anything else I can do with the motor still out and waiting to be installed

SC , Turbo or Swap for V6. Pick one.

Lce header made a small difference for me. Took about 2 seconds off my inaccurate 0-60 test. It brought the power band down to around 3000rpms.

I absolutely recommend a turbo if you have the time and money. While you have it out and think you might turbo down the road, welding and oil bung to the drain pain isn't a bad idea.

From a fellow 4 banger you sound like you talk from experience

I figured those were the major options but I'm a grandpa driver and thought a SC or turbo was crazy overkill and I'd rather spend those kinds dollars on overlanding equipment

Would you use NOS on a daily driver? Genuine question from someone with no "go fast" experience

If I were to do any major engine upgrade in the future a turbo would be it.. if I weld in a bung I could just leave it capped while it's still NA correct?

    Are your injectors leaking?

Damn that's sexy! I'm a fan of your header, what brand is that? I settled on just replacing the stock cast manifold with the mini tube header that's stock on the 04 (same place I got my injectors) because I read alot ot reviews stating the custom headers rob low end torque and that's what I use the most lol

If you plan on adding a lot of weight regearing wouldn't be a bad idea.

Curious where you are located. I have a lce header for sale if you are somewhat close. I'd rather not ship it.

Jiffy Lube spilled oil only on the tiny area on the intake manifold directly below the injectors, but didn't spill oil on anything above or around that area, and the oil hasn't dispersed from that little area in many many years?????

I absolutely plan on adding weight and was contemplating a regear when I put my lift kit on it .... in a year or two when I finish paying off all this engine and drivetrain work lol

I live in WA state but my parents live in CO springs, depending on your sale price i could wire them money and have them pick it up for me... so it could sit in there garage for a year or two when i can finally take a vacation and visit them:rofl:

The more stuff I see of yours in this forum, the more impressed i get... that is a gorgeous set up you've got there Bart!

Do you haul or tow weight? I worry about SC when a person strains the engine with different stuff (like heavy loads) already

I tow and haul all the time, I treat it like a truck. I haven’t done any towing with the supercharger thus far though.
