I like the retractable units like truckers use. Makes talking with a handheld mic so convenient. On my old truck I had one that clipped to the passenger side of the sunglasses holder via an included d ring.

Like that? I looked at them and am still considering it an option. I need to look for some mounting points for the little d-ring before I pull the trigger.

Exactly. What I did was remove my overhead console, and used the supplied screw and screwed the d ring right into the headliner. Once the console was reinstalled, it hid the screw and you only saw the d ring. It was so small and out of sight that when I didn’t have the leash in it, you really couldn’t tell it was there.

Genius. I'll have to see if that's possible when I get out to the truck in a few hours. It more than likely is. I knew we kept you around for something!

Don't be so hard on yourself! You've had at least two good ideas that I know of.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
So does that make it "Twice in a while"?

Speaking of radios: I have my BaoFeng hanging around in my cab because I just got a mount. I'm driving home yesterday and I keep hearing a female voice saying something every few seconds. First, I can't figure out what the hell she's saying, and second, where it's coming from. I've got my radio off by this point and I still hear it. I finally figure out that it's coming from the BaoFeng that I didn't realize I had left on. Still can't figure out what she's saying. If someone transmitting? Or have I finally lost it? Finally, I get what she's saying: "low voltage." Battery is dying on the BaoFeng. Who the hell says, "low voltage?" What happened to "low battery?"

Just got back from Norway, talk about an amazing landscape.

Also, awesome seeing the Hilux around, what an awesome truck.

I got upgraded to a rav4 which was a hybrid, I couldn't believe the gas mileage, I averaged almost 50 mpg for 500 miles of driving. Also, it looks like a mini 4 runner, I'd consider one.....

Gearkeeper makes some solid shit. I have several of their products and have been happy with them. They have a bunch of different types of attachment points s’ok I am sure you can find something.

They actually have one on there that I think I can make work, but it almost lóoks like it's a special order or something. I gotta look again on a bigger screen. I don't think Randy's solution will work. Third gen overheads are different.

Nope, I want the king blue to stand out. I’m a fan of keeping it simple. I always disliked the red because it looked tacky.

It's usually the first thing people notice on mine. "What are those red things?"
