Thanks for the info, I’m interested to see if that solves your issue

Seems like the relay should be triggering for the rear camera as well

When i first installed, had a black screen from one of my cameras. Called the owner and he made me do a few tests. I did not crimp my wires, where i split em, good enough. Not sure, but worth a try

Havent been on this thread in awhile, but was looking at the yimu -606 camera that had the button to go through the images(backwards, flipping, etc). Now that they are not availablr on Amazon anymore, does anyone have know a comparable cam or a source for the yimu -606. Ive been through a few cams and just cant get it rightside up. I need the “wires back” configuration

Searched this thread for a while and couldn't find an answer- how long did this install take for you guys (front & back, 2018)? I'm getting a buddy to do it for me and he asked..
    Thanks!

Took me roughly 2 hours. Most of that was spent routing the front camera wiring and making all the other wires nice and tidy. If you already have the camera wired up, this should be done within an hour easy.

Hey ..maybe someone can chime in here....
I had everything wired in and my switch only lights up for the rear cam.
The rear cam and override work great.
I dont seem to get any signal from the front cam. Again the switch only lights up for the rear.

This is how i had it wired ...
    Switch
    Green to relay green
Black to black on relay to ground
    Red to red override.
    Orange to orange override

    Camera black to ground
Camera red to add a fuse.

Now i added the red from rca to both the green from relay and green from the switch.
I removed the add a fuse and put the red from cam to red from rca

I still have the same results.. ...nothing from the front cam at all and the switch only illuninates for the rear.

    Help?
    Thanks

Do you hear the relay activate (clicking sound) when you switch to the front cam? Probably not if the switch doesn't illuminate.

Do you understand what each wire does and how the system should ultimately work? Not an insult; just trying to make sure we're on the same page with that regard.

Someone chime in if I'm wrong about how I understand the system:
    • Red from supplies 12V to the system.
    • Orange triggers the rear camera.
    • Green triggers the front camera.
    • Black is ground.
For the relay itself, you have 3 RCA cables: two inputs and one output. The rear input should already be connected when your stuff arrives; it takes the rear input from the radio harness and sends it to the relay. The other cord is for your front camera. At the relay, it has a single output which goes back to the headunit. This is what you'll see when you activate a camera. The relay controls which camera you see. Since it's a NO (normally open) relay, it'll use the rear input by default because that's how the kit is wired. Makes sense since that's what you want to see when you shift to R. When you activate the relay, you pipe the front camera input to the headunit. Note that this will override the rear camera if you're already in R.

You activate the relay with the switch: when toggled to front, it sends 12V from the red wire to the green wire which activates the relay and thus uses the front camera input. When toggled to rear, you send 12V to the orange wire which tricks the headunit into thinking you're in R and switches to the RCA input, which in this case is the rear camera since the relay is open.

Let me know if this is a good explanation.

What some people did (myself included), is tie camera power (its red cord) into the system itself instead of an add-a-fuse. You tap into the GREEN wire, not the RED wire. This means the front camera only comes on when you want it on, which supposedly helps with its lifespan. This is an optional setup.

All that said, is this how you have your setup wired?

    Hi
    Yes pretty sure.
I have emailed Brian from anytime and he said it should be wired correctly.
Its my first wiring job but i felt pretty confident i could get it licked fairly easily.
Feeling a bit defeated atm. Lol
Maybe i have a faulty harness?
I assume its not the relay as i have the rear working fine.

The relay may not necessarily be fine just because rear is ok; by default, that's the circuit that's completed. If the relay is getting power but not activating as it should, your rear will still work normally.

The switch illuminates for rear and the rear override also works.

Right, because the relay, by default, completes that circuit. The relay could still be at fault if it isn't activating and thus completing the front camera circuit.
