Either way, replacing the 20 year old line is probably not a bad idea!

$35 for a braided clutch line from Marlin. Pretty much a no brainer to me as it will likely be the last time you ever need to replace it.

If I was replacing thats what I would buy. My truck is relatively low mileage, so I doubt it would make anything firmer as my lines are all in good shape.

Something like that. Just pissed at myself for rushing on burning the crossmember in. I would have saved myself a bunch of work if I dry fitted the tank first with the xmember tacked in.

Meh, it happens. This past week Ive discovered that our band saw at work needs some love, and cuts at a 10 degree angle, so instead of this "I" I get this "/" . Much frustration on all my projects this week.

    :annoyed:

It took a little bit of time evening out a few spots but I think they look a lot better. I debated tearing them off and painting. Maybe next time. Also did the front bumper.

Don't mind the test spot I did with a torch to see if heat actually fixed them.

Debating if I want to paint the chrome on both bumpers. They are in great shape just think they clash a little with the bronze wheels.

If you paint everything it'll look really good. Plus those bronze wheels will really pop. But I'd go ahead and paint the flares as they'll fade pretty quick compared to painting them

i like those bronze wheels on black
... have some salvaged OEM alloys needing to get sanded and powdered for a spare winter set

cannot decide between the bronze or gun metal :notsure:
i have all the chrome: bumpers, mirrors, wheel moldings and I am not at all color coordinated lol
should I just try to match them to the 'charcoal' side decals I have

I had the same dilemma with my Supra. If you want it to pop go bronze if you want it to be a "behind the scenes/sleeper" type of truck go gunmetal. My vote is bronze

i can always hunt down some more salvaged wheels from totalled Tacos and have a garage full of different colors lol
but then there is added cost of changing the tires from one set to the other, unless you can get your own machine to do that frequently

I like darker shades of silver, but not dark enough to be considered gunmetal. @GQ7227 Prismatic Powders will send as many free color sample cards as you want for like $10 shipped UPS overnight. I had like 15 samples before I settled on the color that I liked best.

Your heat gun experience yielded way better results than mine! Looks good. Agree with @BYJOSHCOOK though, might want to just paint them because they do tend to fade pretty quickly.

You should plastiderp the bumpers instead of paint. If you decide to change your mind later because you miss your chrome, easier to reverse than paint. Just sayin'

Edit: the bronze against the all black looks pretty bad ass

Does anyone know if the axle shafts out of a 3rd Gen 4Runner e-locked axle will work on a Tacoma e-locked axles housing?

I’m re-gearing to an e-locked gearset and I bought a bare e-locker axle housing for it, but I was under the false impression that my existing non e-locked axle shafts would work.

I understand all e-locked axles are setup for ABS with the tone rings and sensors, however my specific axle was a non ABS equipped axle.

Can I find any Limited 3rd Gen 4Runner and use those axle shafts? In exception of the obviously later non e-locked 4Runners

No, the third members are identical. Even on the Tundra, Sequoia, all the way up to the 2nd Gen Tacoma — third members at least. I don’t know if the axle shafts are though.

The only difference I can think of between the two is the 4Runner axle is setup for coils and not leafs.
