A would suggest getting a older truck made before 1980 just in case someone decides to put us in a situation
where no electronics work. Like a EMP attack. Thats a 2 on my really bad things to happen list.
    Nukes are a 1, Bio warfare is a 3.
    And water.
Look closely at 3694. I use a older single stack .45

I’ve got this rock solid mechanical diesel LandCruiser and for the last year have been on the fence. At first I intended to sell it but now I’m starting to lean towards selling the Tacoma. The LandCruiser has a minor ECU which I already have two spares of and is just as solid as can be. The Toyota 1HZ engine is possibly the best Diesel engine they’ve ever made and it’s common to see them with a million kms on them and still running without issue.

The RTT is gone as I’d rather just sleep in the car or in a swag or ground tent.

Put an extra matched ECU in an EMP proof container, along with extra ingintion coils. Gotta be less expensive & easier to live with that, then other alternatives. Have a spare alternator & battery put away unconnected to anything.. If that doesn't cover your ass, you'll likely be in more trouble than most could cope with anyway.
