When I was doing all the interior sanding, I’d lay down inside to take a breather. It’s roomy! It’ll seem much smaller once the mattress is in there but it’ll still be pretty nice

Sure, it will feel a little smaller.

But, way more comfortable with bedding and decorations on the wall.

I'm sure it will be very nice. I love our teardrop - it's not big, but has all the room we need.

Kind of like the forts we built as kids.... :D

Some good work for the day.

    BEA61641-C878-48CF-92B0-281493BE1810.jpg
Took all of the bedside hardware off the flatbed. Shouldn’t need that again.

Nice and smooth. I’m getting the whole truck detailed inside and out next week or so. Some of this residue will clean off some is just wear from the bedsides. No worry. I may end up doing some sort of standing rail or something here to make access to the roof easier. We’ll see.

Second coat of primer inside. It’s looking promising!

Next step is to give the primer until Tuesday after work to dry. Then I’ll get in and fix a couple of issues I somehow missed on the area around the fan opening and the exterior where the door hinge mounts. Not sure how these few issues slipped through the cracks but they did. So, fix those and re-prime those small areas.

Ideally, top coat paint will be happening this next weekend.

Sanded down and patched up two issues. I just couldn’t spend all this time then have a blem right at the door and one right overhead when in bed. Quick fix. I’ll sand this smooth tomorrow then re-prime. Will have two coats of primer by Thursday. No real impact to timeline.

Wish I had your "timeline" flexibility!

Weeks with no work on it and yet your schedule is intact.

So, just like the last update! Primer. Second coat.

Unless I screw something up badly, that should be the last of the primer! Tomorrow will be sanding. Lightly sand the entire camper inside and out then clean it all up in prep for topcoat.

It’s getting close. There are a bunch of small things that keep coming to mind that I need to handle soon: sealant for the fan, various hardware, new bulb seal for the door, Hardware for the camper mounts. I also need to get the holes drilled and hardware in place for my underbed boxes because access will be very small once the camper is in place.

    It wasn't a totally serious question... ;)

I can appreciate all the work you've put into this. Sanding is not fun, but the results are very obvious - especially when not done well!

I'm eager to hear about your first night of actual camping in this.

Oh man, I’m looking forward to actually using it. I’m trying to figure out where I want to go first. Do I take it easy and do a local dirt road overnighter or do I take it on a 4wd trail and really text out the system?
