None of this is necessary because according to the MT owners they have no issues - so just keep making the AT's better - someday we might be included in the MT family of Tacoma. ;)

Is there a way to get the truck out of limp mode if it throws the brake override malfunction so I could drive it to the dealership with the light still on?

When @Cav_BluTRD truck went to limp mode we unplugged TSS and cleared codes and it was fine for a couple days.

I cleared the code earlier and reflashed. I was just thinking if it comes up again I would just take it straight to the dealer but not if it stays in limp mode.

Awesome, I was about to buy the 1.05 now honestly, should I wait, or do current owners get the upgrade to 2.0? Or are they only eligible for 1.X versions?

Just because we don't have issues doesn't mean there is not room for improving the tune;)

I have not reset the learning values since installing 1.05 and have run 91 base and 87 base. I have the instructions but I'm feeling very lazy - can the LV's be reset by battery disconnect or do I have to drive to my work to pick up my laptop?

I have seen this asked several times but can’t find any definite answer. Will my truck throw any codes if I install the new dump tubes?

If they don’t have an adapter to pull the 02 sensor out to read less flow it’s going to throw a code. Or there would be a selection within the tune system to eliminate the sensor. These are essentially removing the Cat which in turn would always throw a code on a factory set up. Even if it didn’t throw a code of the inspection shop looks under the hood or under the truck they are going to reject it as soon as they see aftermarket down pipes with no converter.

I'm sure this info has already been shared somewhere on pages 1124 - 1756, but couldn't find it in a search.

Didn't want to run the flash manager on my work laptop, so instead of picking up a dedicated laptop on craigslist (will probably still do this), I'm trying to get flash manager up and running on my wife's old windows 7 (64bit) laptop.

After installing the flash manager, I got an error when trying to start up.

Error was super useful microsoft error, something like "Application cannot start because blah blah code 0xc000007b"

Turns out I needed to update the visual c++ packages on this machine.
Took me a while to figure this one out, because the flash manager install looks like it installs a c++ package, which I assumed was a dependency.

I downloaded and installed them from here, and that apparently fixed the problem without a reboot.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

Hope that helps anyone who runs across the same problem.
Is there a different thousand page thread I should have posted this in?

I vaguely recall seeing something about a handheld tuner in the works?? Was this true?

Of course, now that I get to the registration procedure, it sure seems like getting a newer laptop seems like a better solution.

I get that proprietary code must be encrypted and secured, but man, just getting this thing setup is a process, and then it's not portable between laptops?
No license key that can be activated on multiple laptops, even if it's tied to a single VIN?

Sorry, that's pretty weak sauce. Hope you guys come up with a more practical solution in the future.

Practical how? How many laptops do you need to have it on. The rest of us do just fine using 1 laptop. If you need to change to a new laptop, Mat will send you a new reg key (only a certain amount of times).

Sorry, but this is a piece of cake IMHO. I got a new computer and got a REG file for it quickly.

In a market where mods are replicated shamelessly, it makes all the sense in the world and is pretty invisible after the first go around.

    So ....

My work laptop is a no-go because of corporate anti-virus issues. My desktop is a no-go, because it's a desktop.

My wife's laptop is an old windows 7 laptop. It will probably end up working, but I don't want to depend on it long term.
Yes, I will buy a new laptop and be happy, I was just hoping to put it off a bit.

Again, no big deal, but it delays getting the tune on the truck, so there's that...

I will be keeping a laptop in the truck for a while, because I've read enough of this thread to see that some issues do pop up, and Murphy's law states that will happen to me in the Alvord desert.
I'd like that laptop to be more dependable than my wife's old one. (Battery holds a charge for 10min)

All that up to this point, is entirely solve-able, and I don't really have any issues with that.
I need a new laptop, I get it, it's fine.

My main beef ( or concern, or feedback), is the registration/activation process.
I can't think of any software I use that has this type of registration and licensing process.

Set it up halfway, send an "EMAIL?!?!?" with some codes, and receive an activation key 1-3 business days later.
Maybe it's much faster than that, I'm just going by the instructions in PDF file.

What if you run into an issue and you need to re-flash, or pull codes, or anything in a hurry, but the 1 laptop you have registered happens to be unavailable where you are?

You can't borrow your buddy's laptop for a day just to get back up and running.

I get that OV needs to make sure that tunes aren't shared/pirated, but it's 2019. Seems like this is the sort of software problem that has been solved already.

Maybe there is some logical reason it must be this way.

Sorry if I sound harsh, but i'm pretty excited to get this tune in.

This isn't that bad. try licensing and activating enterprise software. this is nothing.
