I'm in for the video of you trying to drive this thing with 5 of them in series. I'll donate mine to the cause.

Got tired of hearing what I was missing and the rough idle and hesitation - Ordered the OVTune and ADM. Taking my truck in for the TSS recall tomorrow (I have a Toyota Pro Grill on my '18 Sport so we will see how that goes). My plan is to flash this weekend, as I have not received the activation code back from Mat yet, but the kit arrived yesterday. If the kit from Trident904 arrives by Saturday, I will do the ADM also.

My plan is to start with the base tune (I have the 04A7100 TSB tune in for approximately 7K miles and it has reverted back to almost the same as the original tune). My mileage sucks - always around 17.5mpg with mixed highway and city driving. Have never achieved anything higher than 19mpg on a tank using 87, 91, 10% ethanol, no ethanol, multiple brands, etc. no matter how gently I drive.

Can't wait for the rev-hang elimination tune. That ranks up there as dumb a "feature" as the accumulator.

You won't get the REG file from OVT until you send in your System ID:
    https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0...TION_INSTRUCTIONS_V.1.pdf?6109941026687214203

It will take a few days to get the REG file after you send the System ID since it comes from a company in the UK.

    Where were you before OVT?

I gained about 0.5mpg with the tune, but I was already sitting at 20.

I would kill to be getting those numbers. I am about 50% highways and 50% city, and am usually getting 17.5mpg according to the display. Same driving with my 2003 4Runner 4.0 was around 19.5mpg.

    Truck is completely stock.

    So. Many. Stickers.
Seems kinda low, I'm getting around 20-21 stock with 50/50 city/highway.

Note: I do NOT have the OVTune installed yet, will get on that when I'm back in the country.

Nearly stock here as well. Staying under 70 on the interstate helps significantly.

That is a nice bump. The tune has probably paid for itself by now.

For a Toyota product, there are some weird inconsistencies between otherwise similar Tacos. I wish there was an explanation.

OTOH, the difference between 20.0mpg and 17.5mpg is less than $5.80/wk ($300.00/yr) based on $3.50/gal fuel and 12,000mi per year. That would be a fill up about every other week. Still, a 12% difference is a big variable to me when thinking of Toyota.

Here's some neat little MPG stats:
    http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/tacoma/2017?engineconfig_id=102&bodytype_id=&submodel_id=

This is only one of two groups of V6 Tacos. I picked the larger one.

There's a ton of variables between people that would be hard to measure. e.g., what is the PSI in my super oversized AT tires :)

everyone should be running 75 PSI for those hypermile numbers!

I run 30 during winter, 35 during summer. Falken AT3W

Just 22k in 21mo for me. I would enjoy doing that much behind the wheel though. I am kicking myself at the moment. I'm meeting the fam in Vegas for a week and some friends are joining also. I got so excited when it all came together that I grabbed a flight. It took me a couple days to realize that it would have been a really nice road trip. Oh well.

There is that. My ears do perk up when folks discuss mileage and how their setup compares to mine though.
