No. We’ve been over this, Miguel. It doesn’t have to be the same manufacturer.

In fact the presentation from the CA BAR depicts a Jeep with a Chevy LS in it.

    https://www.bar.ca.gov/pdf/Engine_Change_Guidelines_BAG_04.19.18.pdf

Type II: Originally Equipped with OBD 2

    • All emission system configurations must be in the original emission control system configuration as the donor vehicle, including, but not limited to, the transmission, evaporative system, exhaust, and intake

    • All of the requirements listed for “all model year vehicles” (Type IV)

    Example:
2008 Jeep Wrangler with LS V8 Engine Change

Oooh...well I can understand why, aftermarket ones kind of fit like crap on the body lines. OEM is $$$ though unless you score a deal used

Yeah, even if he finds one of a different color and repaints it, it will never look like it was supposed to be there. I say go full send with a hole saw on the oem fender. Drink a few beers first to make it easier if needed.

Well ya i don't understand buying another one in general to install the snorkel, once it's on there it's on there imo. But if youre gonna do it then might as well buy oem if you can. Or see if the CAPA ones fit better

If he doesn’t drill holes in the cab he could always replace the fender.

I still need to install mine....

I don't think it's wise to use adhesive on the a pillar unless you're just mall crawling...and even then at highway speeds I'd be afraid of it coming loose and wobbling around. Just rivet the a pillar and get it over with lol. It's not that hard...just don't mess it up

Lockers are less important if you have traction

I'd like to have so much flex that I never need to worry about using the locker lol

Links and coilovers will get you there, well a lot of the way there, still gonna need a locker once in a while if you're getting yourself into situations that can overwhelm a solid axle rig. But I've never had a locker while wheeling and been fine. Have two now but never used em
