In the same camp. This is probably an obvious statement, but I'd check Craigslist. I ended up finding an older Acer Iconia Tab for $25. By all accounts its a garbage device but it runs Win7 and runs the OVtune kit just fine.

Craigslist in my area has a bunch of decent Lenovo T### options under 200 bucks, but buyer beware of course.

I wouldn't want to keep windows current with 2gb of ram.

Cheapest options I can find on Amazon here:
    https://smile.amazon.com/ASUS-Ultra...ows+10+laptop&qid=1561050656&s=gateway&sr=8-7
    https://smile.amazon.com/CHUWI-Hero...ows+10+laptop&qid=1561050656&s=gateway&sr=8-8

But to run windows for longer than 4-5 years, I wouldn't recommend those.

No, but I am dongless in my tuning so I only need the one USB. It looks like that exact laptop isn't listed at the moment, but if you stick with those specs, you can find a comparably priced unit.

Don't know if VMware works any better, but I couldn't get the Tactrix to pass through from the local machine USB through Virtual Box or whatever the builtin Windows one is. Also tried it on a virtual desktop hosted on Unraid. No go either. I'm no expert, but I thought it should be simple. I think only standard USB devices pass through where the Tactrix cable is odd and does not work with native drivers. Or that is my theory.

Virtual box sucks. That’s your problem.

PCMFlash is for those that have a dongle kit, also those features haven't been implemented in PCMFlash yet, only P5flash as of now have it. Those of us with dongle kits still have to use techstream to clear learned values.

V-Box didn’t work for me either, which is why I went Bootcamp with zero issues

I found that by clearing the learned values it adjusts the knock correct learn value much faster so you get less misfires after a fresh flash but other than that there doesn't seem to be any value to clearing them unless you have problems or maybe if you decide to go for a different octane. Which soon won't matter anyways with v2.0.

The stock Tacoma has a top speed governor that will simply kick in at lower speeds once you re-gear to 4.88 or 5.29's because the ECU programming doesn't know that you've re-geared. I believe it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 90mph with 5.29 gears (actual speed, not displayed, which would depend on your tire size and appear lower).

In other words, the governor itself has nothing to do with OVtune, but I believe Mat did mention he would be able to adjust/eliminate it in future versions of the tune.

I am going to be doing a clean reinstall of windows on my laptop. Will this cause a problem with OV Tune? Will I need to reregister or something? I think I have a dongle. I bought pretty early on and have a purple USB drive I need to stick in to make it work, that's the dongle, right?

I believe once you reinstall the flash manager and all the drivers for guardant and all, you will be good.

The 4.88 tune should fix that because he’s adjusting shift points so the ECU & TCU shouldn’t know any better right?

This happens with / without the tune. it's due to the gearing itself making the algorithms in the ecu wrong.

We should be all wrapped up with everything by this weekend. I know you guys are waiting patiently for details.

Dump tubes should be shipping out this weekend as well.

I have the 1.05 tune with 33s and 5.29s and rolled up to 96mph before calling that fast enough. I didn’t seem to hit a speed governor although it may have been ready to kick in at 97mph?
