So after some debate with myself I decided to trade my 2015 Black OR short bed in on a “used” 2019 White OR long bed. Previous owner had it for 5 months and did some work to it. There were a multitude of reasons that I made the switch from 2nd gen to 3rd gen, but we won’t get into that.

So unlike when I purchased my 2nd gen, I spent months researching the truck and specs. This one was more of a spur of the moment so I’m still trying to learn somethings about he truck.

Truck does have a OME lift on it with Dakar’s. I’m unsure of which could as I have not had a chance to spend some alone time with it. (Work and school) It does have 285’s with no notes trimming so I assume at least a 3 inch life. It also has a sweet best top soft top on it. Which I am in love with. Only thing it does need is UCAs. They are clearly out of adjustment.

So from you experienced 3rd Gen guys. What are some of the first things that you would recommend that I do to improve the truck? Whether it be performance or functionality. I’m open to suggestions. And as always here are some pictures of the new purchase.

Nice truck. As far as recommendations go... It looks like you're pretty well set. The UCAs are a good idea, given the amount of lift. If you do a lot of off-roading you may consider aftermarket bumpers or accessory lighting (ditch lights, light bar, etc.). But otherwise, you look to have a nice setup as/is.

    Very nice, congrats!

Other than UCA's it looks like a solid setup, just play it by ear in terms of additional mods.

@J_Hacker BTW... How far is Bedford from Ashburn? I will be visiting my sister in Ashburn for a week in August (just curious). I'll have my 14 YO son with me to tour D.C. and NYC while we're back there.

Congrats on the 3rd gen but do you have more pics of your 2nd gen? That thing looks great. What did you have on it?

I had a bunch of stuff icon coilovers, icon UCAs, Dakar spring pack, icon rear shocks, pelfreybilt rear bumper, Nitto trail grapplers, method double standards, retrofits to name the biggest things. It was a great truck but it had its fair share of issues. I don’t have many pics of it. But here’s a side shot during a foam bath

UCA's as you've identified, and OV Tune if you have any power and/or shifting complaints.

I saw something about that OV tune looking around. But am still unsure of it just yet. Im coming from the 4.0 of the second gen to I do notice a little less giddy up but I'm gonna give that a little while to see if I adjust.

some feel they need it, some don't even notice a complaint, some can't live without it. i'm in a MT and can't live without it. some of the earlier AT's also feel that way due to the weird trans shifting, but it's subjective. good luck!
