My last 2 cars I ran Mobile 1 full synthetic extended performance oil. Loved the stuff. It guarantees that it's good for 15k miles between changes, but I usually changed it between 10-12k and it was usually pretty clean still.

I recently purchased my 08 V6 4x4 Taco with 110k miles. I'm planning on running the Mobile 1 High mileage 5w30 extended performance. I guess the HM has seal conditioners and what not.

What are some opinions on the Mobile 1 EP High Mileage full synthetic if you run it through your taco? And do you run if for the full 15K miles between changes?

link below to the product. Hard to beat that price!

    Oil is oil is oil.

Guys here change their oil anywhere from 3k ( silly and wasteful) all the way to 15 k ( with blackstone reports to back it up)

I would go the 15K and not even think twice about it.

I also do extended oil change intervals currently 12,500 miles. I could care less what brand of oil however. Any synthetic I can get on sale works just fine.

I was using the stuff because I figured its only an extra $3-$5 for the extended period, but ultimately I felt like the engine oil level was being neglected. And every car or truck I've ever driven 'sometimes' burns oil and 'sometimes' doesn't burn oil (so I think the oil level is a byproduct of how I drive, not a malfunctioning or poorly designed engine) - so I prefer just resetting the oil level every 5k-6k miles instead of running it for an extended period.

You need to use a like type oil filter such as M1-102A as when they went to the extended life oil they dumped the higher micron M1-102 filter for the current 102A which filters to a slightly lower level to last for the extended period and not clog. Just the facts. I run once to 12K and the oil was very dirty and the filter was very heavy so now change after 6K or so - only costs about $35 and I want to run this engine along time - will outlast the body and frame I bet - at 150k now and 10 years old. I am in FL so hot and tow boat around.

I have a question how many have had a oil related problem with any type of oil assuming you change it as recommended? Next question do you service the other parts like drive shaft fittings trans and diff. oil checks general inspection of fame work tie rods, tires etc. or do you wait until 10,000 or more miles?

Most likely yes. The more expensive stuff may have a slight better additive pack, but the difference between basic Mobil1 and Mobil1 EP is only discernible in a UOA.

Any modern synthetic and 10K oil change intervals should provide very adequate protection.

I use it on my vehicles, works great. You may also consider getting a bypass filter to extend the intervals even longer.

I try to stay factory service or better, documenting and saving receipts. The reality is, although I keep my trucks for a long time, they're going to be someone else's someday. My last Tacoma I owned 20 years and when I sold it this past May, got a really good price for it, in part, because I had stuck to and documented the factory service intervals and wasn't some Black Stone experiment.

Edit: Mobil 1 out and back in everything at 5k

If I changed my oil every 15k, that would put me at intervals of every 2 years to change my oil. I stick to every 6 months regardless of miles.
