First off, thanks to all of you here on the forum. I have learned a lot but still have a long way to go, and appreciate having access to knowledge that I couldn't figure out on my own in a hundred lifetimes.

One of the many upgrades I want for my new 2019 TRD Off Road 4x4 DCLB is a solid set of bolt-on Rock Sliders. After having spent many hours researching this forum, I decided to go with MobTown OffRoad. Their products look fantastic, well-designed, and well-built. All that, plus the many recommendations I have seen here convinced me to place my order with them.

The order was made on April 28. I had a few questions about the sliders and also concerning some of their other products so I attempted to contact them. For two months now I have tried emailing them through their website, calling them and leaving VoiceMails asking for a return call, emailed joea@mobtownoffroad.com directly, and finally I made a post on their Profile Page five days ago.

I have received ZERO response from these guys.

Are they still in business??? If so, are they so busy fulfilling orders that they don't have the time to provide good Customer Service to someone who just spent over $1200 with them, and who could potentially spend several thousand more on bumpers, skid plates and the like?

How do you get ahold of them? Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

We are very much in business. We’ve been busting our asses in the shop trying to get orders out the door (our primary responsibility to our paid customers). I’ve personally been putting in extra time in the evenings to reply to as many emails as I can. We’re doing the best we can.

If you haven’t gotten an answer to a question from me (team@mobtownoffroad.com), it’s because I’m still trying to get the answer. I have about 25 people that want shipping quotes on various items (mostly to Canada, but also one trio of skids to Cali). It’s a pain in the ass to manually quote this stuff but I’m working on it. As for order status, I’m pretty sure I’ve been keeping up on those emails fairly well.

Try not to assume that you are being ignored when emailing a vendor, especially one thats renown on TW. I've never even ordered from MBO but like most custom vendors, it should be expected they are small operations with their hands full. MBO will take care of you from what I've seen here. Just give him some time

Doesn’t hurt to simply say “Got your email. Let me track this down for you.”

I have no issue with Mobtown at all. I’m just speaking generally. I hate when companies don’t respond at all. Everyone is busy, but it’s not hard to take 10 seconds and acknowledge an email or call. Makes a huge difference IMO.

I could easily automate that reply and it would not change the situation at all. Unless you’re saying the reply is just so you know there wasn’t a technical glitch?

Yea man. I wasn’t knocking your business at all or referring to you specifically. An actual reply from a person would be best, but I think an automated reply that a company is backlogged but will get to you as soon as possible may be helpful.

Again. Just speaking generally in experience I’ve had with other companies (where there has been no update to the status of a shipment or responses to my follow up emails on status). I’ve only heard good thing with you guys. Glad to hear you’ve been doing well :benchpress:

I have never had issues with Mobtown OffRoad answering calls even at the busy time of Christmas. Excellent products and excellent customer service. 10444568-1486-434E-A6B4-354B29507880.jpg

Automated is always nice, let's you know the vendor received the email. And you can set an expectation of how long it may take for you to get back to them.

I would say, if you can’t always respond within 24 hours, you should have an automated response, no question.

I had a similar experience. Ultimately, I just switch vendors. The front a rear bumper I planned on buying from them I went with C4. C4 responds to all of my communication within 24 hours.

I waited months to get a bad product, then had to pay $50 out of my own pocket to ship it back, then waited months to get the product back and it was still bad, I also paid for powder of the original product, but the new one they sent was bare steel, so I had to pay another $150 to have it powdered because thats the minimum charge. I was better off just completely buying a new one from someone else...

EDIT: I didn't think it was entirely fair to be so negative because I have had some good experiences with Mobtown.
I have two sets of skids from them, the first set are perfect with no issues at all, the second set popped and cracked the welds and I had fitment issues with the transfer case skid. The tailgate reinforcement plate is awesome and has no issues and I have had no issues with the sliders, they have held up to the abuse and when they were damaged in shipping Mobtown sent me powder to have them redone.

Good product is not the same thing as good service... let’s not conflate the two things.

Good to know. I look forward to getting an answer tomorrow to the email I sent 9 June regarding my 14 April order. EatSleepTacos passed the word to Joe. He told me of your offsite supplier issues.

Well...this really instills confidence. Small business lives on its customers feedback. You, as the consumer, do your research, ask many questions in forums and trust your hard earned salary is invested wisely in quality products.

You won't like hearing that most of the welds on my skids popped and I had to take them in to get rewelded.

Ya and I have never mentioned it before either. They have a strong following so didnt feel like getting lynched. I saw this thread and was like ok, maybe I should say something now that the can has been opened.

Thanks for the replies and for sharing your insight.

To LivinOnEdge - I didn't assume I was being ignored. I was thinking maybe outdated email address, phone number, or technical glitch. Looking for valid contact info after two months of unproductive effort is something most would not consider to be unreasonable.

Another member was kind enough to message me and direct me to MobTown's Vendor Forum. I posted my questions in the Q&A and got a quick reply with answers to my questions.

They eat profit. Small businesses are short on margin.
