Gotcha, that doesn't sound all that bad then. Buddy of mine in MI was at Humphreys with 8th Army I think. He said all the war drills were dumb but he got to travel a lot while there. Visited Thailand, Japan, and many more.

Also, Humphreys is cush as Hell. I feel bad for the guys working the DMZ, though. No chill for them, for years lol. They also have to guide the English tours at the DMZ lol.

I actually got out of the military because I came up on orders for Seoul and all I was to do is issue ID cards...

 

Haha sounds a lot like my time at Knox, Huachuca, and Hood. My liver got a good workout from those TDYs haha.

That sounds terrible for the DMZ guys. Bunch of tourists asking questions and taking pictures. Ugh.

Worse is the restrictions lol. There's a lot of places you can't walk, within feet of where you stand on the tours, and places and things you can't photograph. So many civilians getting bodyslammed, detained and had guns pointing at them lol. They're rules for a reason lol. I stood in a room where you couldn't go to the back because it was in North Korea. If you went, you would be charged.
