This sounds a lot like someone saying "2.85 pulley should be my final mod" ...

Thanks for all the updates, you're the man @12TRDTacoma !

@Sterdog couldn't start a conversation with you for some reason. Did you block me??!! Haha.

In any case I'll be in Calgary on July 20th in the evening, probably after supper or so.

I too "overland". LOL And yes the s/c is very much worth it. But if you tow, gearing will make as big of a difference, for me, a bigger difference since I am what they call "overloaded" and tow beyond the rating. LOL

Nah, sorry man you’re not blocked. I have PMs blocked off from an issue with a member a while ago who likes to create multiple accounts lol. Apparently permanently banning people on TW doesn’t actually happen.

Sadly I won’t be around tonight. In Calgary right now but I have to head south for work.

yes. we regularly go camping and wheeling (I refuse to use the "O" word), heavily loaded, long distance trips. like others have said.. a re-gear will yield great results and imo is the best bang for the buck. I'm re-geared with the blower.. snorkel, etc.. and weigh in around 6k+ loaded up. long trips through the mountains are no problem.. and I've done some of these trips pulling an expo trailer too. I cruise around with my RTT and shit on all the time as the Taco is my toy basically.. and it still turns heads and surprises people leaving the line. definitely fun whoopin some dude with a loaded down brick of a truck. lol

Gotchya, it's impressive sometimes how people can get so passionate about attempting to bother someone else. If they put that passion toward something productive, they might actually get something done.

Actually I'll be there July 20th. So you have a month to prepare.

I decided to put close to pure water in my intercooler for the summer. Kept a little bit of glycol in it for corrosion protection, and slight freeze protection (sometimes, in Canadiastan it goes below freezing in July). I also put some redline water wetter in it, which touts itself as having additional corrosion protection.

I calculated some years ago that when you compare the specific heat capacity and thermal conductivity of pure water against a water/glycol mix, pure water is 6 times as effective at transferring heat. Now, this change would possibly result in only 10 degrees decrease in manifold air temperature, if I'm lucky. But, given the amount of work and money required to do it, I figured it was a worthwhile thing.

Stock Tacoma’s here come with a 60/40 antifreeze/water mix . I know just going to 50/50 helped me lower my temps a bit. T

Ya. That too. I will be diluting my coolant as well, although not nearly as much as the intercooler fluid dilution I just did.

I just bought Aisin Toyota Pink 50/50 from Crappy Tire when I changed my coolant and installed my new radiator. That saved me a trip to the dealer too.

I’m getting 17” wheels cuz the “16” wheels calipers” very slightly rub on my stock TRD OR wheels. Super annoyed. Great breaking power though.
