5100's @ 1.75" - 265/70/17

First of all, I think that is the biggest tire I can fit with just a 1.75" lift and stock UCA and stock Sport wheels. If not, what else can I get in there?

Also, would this tire cause any additional lift? I think it's 1" taller than the stock tire. Would that raise the cab an additional .5"?

I'm between the BFG AT and the Nitto Grappler.

I'm also adding a 1.5" TSB AAL in the back. Should sit level and look badass!

 

I think your right. Ive heard 285 will rub when at full steer lock or wheelin hard. So i think thati will get 265's too. I think im going Duratracs, i have to deal with snow. How many leafs does your stock leaf pack have. I have 3 large and 1 small and dont know which AAL kit to get, the tsb or non tsb.

 

You'll be fine with the 265/70R17. If your gonna run the stock sport wheels I'd run this spacer in the front http://www.spidertrax.com/Toyota-Hub-Centric-Spacer.

I ran 275/70/17 on stock sport wheels with 5100@175" no rub . Now Im curently running 265/70/17 no rub at all . Tomm I will lift it up 2.5" and get wheel size 17x8.5 at discount tire to bring the tires out a bit.

 

I am currently running a 255/70/17 on stock suspension. Not sure if it matters but I have a reg cab sr5. I can turn my wheels all the way with no rubbing issues. I am about to install the 5100's at 1.75 just to bring the front up a bit. I'll post some before and after pics to show you guys.

The 285 will be too big...read all about it having rubbing issues with just a 1.75" lift.

Spacers for the fronts are out of the question. And it adds $200 to go all the way around.

I could definitely do 265/70/17's but will compare prices to the 275/70/17 (a more rare tire size that could be more expensive).

 

There is no rub if you run 275/65/17 on stock wheels but if you run 275/70/17 then you will rub . Because I ran them on mine so I know when I had set up at 1.75"

 

I got 5100's all around fronts set at 2.5 with stock UCAs. Runing 285s with spacers up front. No rub

Truck looks nice! I really don't want spacers up front though. More cost and I like my sharp turning radius.

My 5100's will be set to 1.75 and I have the rear TSB completed. If necessary, I'll get an AAL (1.0" or 1.5").

I think 285's are pushing it for me. Most I'd go is 275/70/17. Just need to compare cost against 265/70/17's.

 

Har Har with the parking lol jk. Our parking spaces are on top of each other and with 1 child and two infants I need some space. So I park like a dick sometimes, also to save the wifey a spot since they don't enforce parking like they should

Thanks though. The spacers haven't affected me that I notice with my turning radius, besides it's a truck. It was made to conquer mall parking lot curbs and parking blocks! I liked the 285s because they fill out real well but the 275's should look great at the 1.75

Dam I want 265/70/17s. The 65/17 just don't look right. Any chain companies having any deals on all-terrains?

Just updating my situation...

My 5100's were delivered today. I ordered all 4 from Sonny at DownSouth and he has been VERY responsive to my questions. Paid $283 shipped.

I am now trying to decide on tires.

General Grabber AT2 - $636 out the door (60k warranty)


Cooper Discoverer ATR - $627 OTD (50k warr)


Goodyear Silent Armor - $725 OTD (50k warr)


Nitto Terra Grappler - $735 OTD (no warr)



I'm leaning toward the General Grabbers. They have the longest warranty, are the cheapest and get a good rating.

 

Get the at2's you will not regret it I have been running the tires for 6 months with my billys @1.75

 

What tire size did you end up going with?

 

just got the General AT2's in 265/70/17 with 4.1" backspace and only had to remove the front mudflaps. Lifted 1.6" using eibachs and 5100 set at 0
