Didn't read the whole thread so apologies if this was already articulated. Curious what all this costed you, and did you pay others to install, if so, what was the all-in cost?

Also, wouldn't you be able to run 285 75 16 with ease, rather than skinny 255 85s? Reason for the skinnies? :)

I don’t remember how much I paid for it anymore, I’d have to find the receipts.
I had the help of some fellow TW members for the install. Paid in beers.

I did end up with the 285s. The skinnies give a little bit extra height, but they were all more than I wanted to pay. I got the 285s for a steal so I went with them.

I’m using an AAL from Low Range Off-Road. I only had 9K on the truck when installed so the factory leaf pack didn’t need replacing in my opinion. It really should have came that way from Toyota.

Awesome to see you finally pulled the trigger on these. Good luck with the install and report back after you do. It’s what makes this thread so useful.

Just installed my Drivers side of Kings 650lbs today. Installing passenger tomorrow, and leaf springs Wednesday.
For never doing this before it was pretty straightforward!

Possibly getting some kings next week. How long have they lasted people without getting rebuilt? I do some light offroading, but not a crazy amount and I definitely don't push the truck too hard.

Also, JBA UCA's are on the top of my list, change my mind if Im wrong!

One more thing, have people had issues with CV boots after lifting? I would get a #700 coil (I know its a lot without much/any weight for a 3rd gen up front) but I plan on adding sliders, skids, and an aluminum front bumper.

Thoughts, and anything else I should know?

I’ve been curious about the length of time before a rebuild is required as well. Hopefully someone with more experience can chime in.

I think your right on with the JBA’s. That’s the route I went and I have been very impressed so far. Service was top notch and the attention to detail is very noticeable.

You might want to think about a #650 coil depending on the exact weight you’ll be adding. It’s a solid, compliant ride that requires minimal collar adjustment/preload to achieve 2+ inches without added weight. CV boot’s still have a visible space between fins along with no unusual vibrations or feedback.

Just get the 700# it's not as bad as everyone says and they all end up swapping to 700# anyway. And you don't have all those threads showing to get 2.5" lift.

Perfect. How long have you had them, and any issues?

To everyone: Should I get extended brake lines?

I do not have extended brake lines and redid the the rear with extended travel......

Id probably get different bumpstops, those are definitely out of my price range. Do you (or anyone else) have recommendations?

Hey everyone! Been reading through this thread for some while now. Back in September/October of 2017 I had my Taco lifted with Bilstein 6112/5160 and an Icon AAL. They've been great, but I have always wanted to move up to Kings. After everything settled, I believe I'm sitting at about 1.5" of lift upfront and about 1" in the back. I'm currently overseas so I can't take measurements at the moment.

My question is, what would the optimal set up be? I plan on adding a bed rack, an RTT, Prinsu Cab Rack, sliders and front skid. No plans for a bumper (front or rear) at the moment. The bed will also be filled with some gear when we go camping, but other wise will remain mostly empty. I would also like ~2" to 2.25" lift all around and leveled.

From what I've been reading, the 2.5s w/adj (front and rear) and 650# springs would be best. I'm looking at the King's 2.5 front combo with TC UCAs on Wheeler's and it doesn't mention what spring rate they come with. What about a leaf pack? I was told that my single AAL wasn't really recommended for use with an RTT. Should I get a whole new pack as well? If so, what would be best? Thank you for the help!
