I’d get the blank and wire up just the 4. Or split it and wire the light wires in the 7 pin as well so it doesn’t matter which plug you have on a trailer. You’d just be missing power and brake controller pins. Should be pretty easy.

You could splice the 4 pin into the factory connector. Not 100% plug and play but better that chopping up other wiring.

Thanks for all the help guys. Sounds like I’ll have to just live with a 4 pin, wether or not I use the one with the 7/4. At least it seems doable.

So off topic, no real necessity to get a tranny cooler if I’m just pulling a couple jet skis or a tear drop? It’s a 2.7 keep in mind

I never considered it. I've towed a trailer with a kawasaki terrx over some small oklahoma hills without any problem.

You could always go to a RV store and say that you want a trailer brake controller and 7/4 pin harness installed. You never know when you might get close to your tow limit and the trailer brakes would come in real handy in such a situation.

I did the same thing on my Gen 2 2.7l manual. I ordered the a simple wiring harness that was plug and play behind the left tail light. Just popped off the lens, pulled the wiring plugs apart, put the new T plug between them, ran the wires down through the back of the light, across the frame to the center where I zip tied it in place. I like your idea of buying the plug replacement for the blank in the bumper and wiring it up. In my case, when I upgraded from my Gen 2 with my dangling 4-pin to my Gen 3 with the plug in the bumper, I had to extend the wiring from my trailer to reach that extra 12" further forward and up than the connection had been before.

Awesome 4cyl access cab with shell. Love the look. We have the same setup lol. Looks like you’re easily towing the dual sports so I feel confident that I can too.
