i've never done them in the same day, i try to give myself overlap to get settled in etc and prep the other house for sale. but your realtor should be able to advise you. also not uncommon for closings to get pushed last minute

 

Wish I could help but I have never done both in the same day either.

 

The sellers 8 days before closing notified us the closing needs to be at 11am on a Friday


My Vaca is spent and I'm getting married in Aug. I told them I can do 2pm. They're fighting it...


They've effed us 3 times already to date

 

We’ve done both in a day, however, our first closing/sale we paid and gave the atty permission to sign for us and the purchase was from a family member so it was seamless. The sale closing was at 10AM and we met for our purchase right after lunch. We had already moved weeks prior and the signatures were just a technicality and money exchange.

When we moved from NH back to MA in 2012, it wasn’t so smooth and ended up “homeless” with our shit sitting in a Uhaul for 2 weeks thanks to Wells Fargo. Almost lost the house we were buying because of them due to the the sellers wanting to back out.

 

So which one of you is stripping?

 

I would imagine the answer to that could greatly influence the turnout.

 

You must LOVE that house. I would have walked and gotten financial damages from them after the 2nd time. You have signed a contract that was accepted and they have agreed to certain things in it. THIS IS LEGALLY BINDING. You can sue for tripple the damages in NC for shit like that. Including all money put in and the price of the house. If the seller said they will do it, they need to do it. YOU are the only one who can walk away and randomly change things. I honestly think you need a different realator based off of everything you've told us. There is literally no reason to put up with this sellers shit without anything happening to the seller that's negative.

That said, do it earlier do NOT wait until 2 pm on a friday to do two closings. That's just asking for trouble. It could go great, but I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone. A flat tire could ruin everything.


Edit: If you cannot be at closing it doesn't matter! Sign power of attorney (LIMITED ONLY TO THIS) to GF or Mom or Dad etc... Then have them go for you. I bought my house in NC while I was in Maine, had a friend do the closing for me.

Hopefully the sun comes out long enough to dry the grass by this evening. Not sure why but I've gotten in the habit of mowing the lawn first thing after work on Friday's.

 

Yep. Now they're playing a sob story about how they want their daughters to sleep in their bed one last night, so they won't do it Thursday, which is available because we called the closing company and asked.

But they have no issue asking me to go into work for 2am to make it happen, staying at work untill 11pm on a Friday... That we are buying a house... Or use $250+ of vacation time.... For their wants. I need that vacation time for the wedding.


I told them 3pm Thursday or Friday. They can figure it out. Not my problem any more. They shouldn't have screwed us 3 times in beginning. Been a mess.

We've had so many issues with these sellers that I'm demanding a walk through immediately before the closing. So unfortunately I can't go that route

 

Probably a good idea. Is this the house near me that you talked about earlier?
