How’s the sound/drone? My last taco had LT headers and I won’t be doing that again for a dd

I'm pretty sure he was referring to 1.05 vs 2.0 performance with stock intake and pipes, which have not been posted yet. We've all seen the older 1.05 runs on the third party dyno, but we've seen nothing for 2.0 without pipes on your new dyno.

Did you tune 2.0 for stock setups before moving on to the dump pipes versions?

I'll get numbers on 1.05 / stock pipes
and 2.0 stock pipes. Although I dont really see any power differences happening with 1.05 and 2.0. Probably a bit of torque increase due to the ACIS changes and such but that was posted a while ago.
I always test everything with stock intake.

So 2.0 will not provide any power gains over 1.05 for those of us running stock pipes?

You rewrote and redesigned almost everything in 2.0 without affecting the 1.05 power curves at all?

    Nuts!

    I'm looking forward to the 2.0 summary/notes.

more torque will be made through retuning of ACIS, however there is only so much that can be gained through the stock restrictive exhaust.

I'll posts graphs of every combination I can think of so you guys can see.

I understand that with regards to overall power gains, and I don't think anyone was expecting more power. However, I do think many here (including myself) thought the curve itself would change dramatically as you completely redesigned the tip-in, shifting behavior, etc.

I'm looking forward to the change log and notes.

Tip in / shift behavior, driving, etc none of that is shown in those curves, as the plot is showing what the engine is doing at full throttle only.

ahh, ok. Do you gear-lock the vehicle in a specific gear when you run the test? I mistakenly thought that the vehicle was shifting gears while increasing from 2100 to 6700 rpm. My bad.

yes, we test with gearlock with our tunes to show the true amount of torque possible with our gearlocking setup, (normally impossible with stock tune, and why there is dramatically less torque available on stock tune until 4500 rpm).

Mat, how well will 2.0 work with existing mods? I have the URD Spec-U exhaust that already eliminated the two rear cats. I'm very interested in getting the dump tubes but will the tuning optimize the removal of ALL the cats? Would 2.0 with the valvetrain timing adjustments be what I should use even with no dumps because I've already removed two cats? You also mentioned there were substantial benefits for your ACIS tuning. Does that still work with the HPS intake tube that eliminated the resonator box? I run 93 octane.

Right on. That's good info! What gear do you usually use for the test? My guess would be 1st gear, but I've had incorrect assumptions throughout this discussion, so I'm probably wrong again. lol

    3rd gear.

1rst gear testing would be really bad on a dyno.

Yes. Once we release 2.0 we will be doing some custom tuning. Because it is going to be much easier for us now with all of the patch work we've done.
Like what we posted on FB yesterday.
Rather than independently custom tuning every single shift table for different trucks, we have developed a 3D compensation map for shift tables that take engine speed and accelerator position into account, and modifies shift limits based on this.
So we can tune 1 3D table instead of an endless amount of shift tables.

So our truck still has both mid cats, but I don't see why 2.0 EROM would not work just fine with your exhaust. just like 1.05. VVT needs changed for the dump tubes, not exhaust behind it. This is due to the pressure changes right at the head.
ACIS tuning is inside the intake manifold, so the intake used does not affect it.

    So for our timeline -
stock exhaust manifolds + 2.0 (and current 1.05) results
    our E85 test results
dyno results for a new upcoming product.

Are the dump tubes worthwhile on 87 octane or only for the 91/93 guys?

Perhaps I missed it, but do we have an answer to the CEL question with the dump tubes?
