I've seen that few times during my road travels. That's what happens with too big of a load with too little truck. Must have hit one heck of a "bump".

Guaranteed he went down off a ledge or “bump” pretty hard and bent it. Pretty easy to smell the BS in his claim.

I've seen a half ton Silverado break in half at a lumbar yard before. The guy loaded a BIG bundle of slab into the bed of the truck. Broke in half right there in the yard.

The yard operator warned the owner many times that the bundle is like 3x the rated payload of the truck..and there was a bit of rust on his frame.

    Idiot tax is expensive.

Imagine the sort of impact it would take to blow through all the rear suspension travel, then the remaining force of the tongue weight buckle the frame to that extent o_O

Does tongue weight matter when it is slamming off road? Going to guess there are some forces at work here that don’t occur on paved roads. So claiming being under TW is not really a factor.

First mistake was documenting what happened using an overloaded trailer. Even under weight there would likely have been an accident like this. I bet it still would have been denied due to the harsh driving conditions. Had to be moving at a good clip.
