For all you travel trailer rv people where do you get stuff serviced? I'm losing my mind with campers inn of raynham right now. Literally don't even get return phone calls. And was told trailer would be ready for our trip and yet they haven't even looked at it. Had a water leak and it's still sitting outside with all the rain we've been having. Paying them a visit tomorrow.

My service center is my driveway. The dealers are incredibly busy and take forever. I had a similar issue with my last trailer, I had a small amount of water that got in and they were scheduling me out to October to even 'get me in' and the leak was noticed in May... If I waited that long, the trailer would have been destroyed so I fixed it myself. I bought a few tubes of Dicor and resealed the suspect area. I water tested it and the leak never returned. If it's a leak in the roof, unless there's a noticeable hole in the membrane roof, check out the seams. My issue was they just went light on the sealant and didn't properly seal the joint between the membrane and the front wall of the camper. I fixed a second potential leak where there was a nail starting to poke through from the underside of the roof. I cut open the roof, cut down the nail and patched the area with a membrane patch and Dicor. All of mine should have been covered under warranty but it was quicker, easier and cheaper in the end to just fix it myself.

My boss is big time into camping trailers, he has a brand new 5th wheel. He tells me they all SUCK to the high heavens. Campers Inn being one of the worst and this time of year you can just about forget it. He used to have a class A motor home and it's hard as hell to get inspected and any work on done on it anywhere.

I would classify it similarly to my boats and sleds. If I didn't have the ability or desire to work on them myself I would probably not be involved in those activities.

I do all my own work as well. I opened up all the corner trim on the front end last year due to a leak. Put some seam tape over the corners (butyl rubber with adhesive similar to Eternabond, but with a felt backer) and some non-leveling dicor (the stuff intended for the sides of the camper) over that before reinstalling the corner trim. I also removed and replaced all the sealant on the front edge of the roof with self-leveling sealant, nice and heavy on that. It's time consuming to do it yourself, but if you can make the time, the work itself isn't difficult. I've replaced a pinched propane line, and serviced the water heater, installed my own solar panels and charge controller.

I've used a combo of the self-leveling and the non-leveling. For the patch I did, I made a 'bath tub' with the non-leveling stuff then flooded the inside with the self leveling. No chance that thing is leaking.

I paid the stupid extended warranty. I just don't understand why they'd say we can do it if they can't even see it for months. It's better off sitting in my driveway where I can check on it. I have no idea where the leak is from other than I'm guessing from behind the awning bracket. Pretty sure I'm not supposed to be expected to remove that in order to seal it. Even when I dropped it off they guy was happy I didn't try to take it apart. I think after this situation I'm asking for a refund on the warranty and just do shit myself or hope it burns to the ground and get my insurance claim.

When my insurance company told me the leak wasn't covered, I asked and got an affirmative answer to: "But if it's parked in my driveway and a storm blows a tree on top of it, is that covered?"

Hi can you guys help me out... I have a 2013 double cab and one of the roof strips ripped off in the car wash, I believe. I am trying to find the taller version like in the pic above. They stick up about 2 1/2 inches. What are they called?

Also, my front axle seal needs to be replaced. I have a shudder in the front end when going up a slight grade and the RPM dips to around 1000. Do you think the axle seal could cause the shudder?

Axle seal should not cause shuddering.

I'm buying the house. The sellers are selling and are closing on the mortgage for the house they had built the same day.

We were notified of this 9 days before the closing and they were trying to force an 11am closing which is not an option for me.

But good news. I told my real estate agent that tell them it's 3 Thursday or 3 Friday, or I'm out.

Their tune suddenly changed. I do like how they're still trying to make us out to be the bad guys though.
