While I agree that the lack of flexibility URD has shown is incredibly disappointing, the customer service I’ve had on simple orders has actually been really good. I ordered my CSF 7076 through him, when a system update goofed my order he went ahead and sent me product before fixing the invoice to make sure I was taken care of.

TRD S/C, UCON, 61# inj, 2.5 pulley, 7th inj, Roostfactor Y Pipe, URD exhaust, WAT Nomad Valve body, Dana 60, DK LT, JD FAB LCA mounts, custom roof rack...and way too many others.
I’m in the same camp. I realize others have experienced issues. The only real speed bump has been an availability delay in the equal length headers. They never dodged my calls and were appologetic that there was a back up on them with ceramic coating. I’ve had really good experiences along the way. I still work with Scott periodically on my UCON as I make adjustments in my system. I’ve never had an issue with support on the UCON.

I don’t want to take away from other’s bad experiences, I just want to balance out the conversation. Personally, I do feel like I go out of my way to purchase products from URD as they have been excellent ambassadors for our platform. I’d like to see them around to support what they’ve started for a long time.

Overall I think Gadget is very protective of his business to the point where he doesn’t share anything of value to someone who could build on what he’s doing. I mean if I were him I would fear others swooping in on my business. I know that can rub people that are just asking legit questions the wrong way but a lot of companies do the same thing after bad experiences online.

I mean it makes sense, here is the issue with that though, this is now a competitive market which has had it's doors blown wide open. Either you are going to have to adapt to that change, or you die. I mean truthfully speaking here, how many years did URD essentially have a chokehold on the Tacoma mod market? How many years were they basically proclaimed the Tacoma go-fast source?

For example, what happened to OVTune for us boosted 2nd gens? He sold his stuff to us, gave little to no support as he continued to work on 3rd gens (why is beyond me, but I digress) continued to make fluff promises because he operates a one-man show and then upon the emergence of 2nd gen support from HPTuners his share of the market for 2nd gens died, all because his customer support was near nil. It's not a apples to apples comparison, but my point is customer support is EVERYTHING if you want to be a thriving vendor in todays market.

It's partly because of these same reasons that Gadget acts as an ass to people asking for some simple info that I even created this thread in the first place. I got sick of there being a near singular source for all parts go fast and feeling as if I have to kiss his ass to get info. We live in the age of information now, and as long as there is an engine and a willingness to mod it, there will be competition at some point in time, and there will be access to other means of obtaining those same parts from either different or original sources.

Seats of Mastercam are pricey too. But.. you can use Fusion 360.. at about 400 bucks a year. That's what I use at home. CAD and CAM.

Ya. Carbinite is really abrasive. I have been thinking about the ablated/machined pulley (Griptec I think?) but it would require, since I studied this in University, a much harder material pulley - the micro-machining would get worn off pretty quickly if it was made of aluminum or soft steel.

I believe in some applications this is where titanium or vandium steel are used.

Got the meth set up all done. Just gotta button up a couple things. And gotta test drive it. On a side note. My 19 tundra will be here in about 3 weeks. And I just ordered long tube headers for it... rabbit hole number 2 has begun.

I’ll drive the tundra all year long. Just not much. More of a kid mobile. I commute with my camry.

That’s pretty much what I’m looking at.

5.7, 4WD, Crewmax, MGM exterior, black cloth interior, TRD sport package. I like all the body colored stuff on the sport. The TRD pro would be perfect, but I’ll be doing my own suspension, don’t want leather and the pro doesn’t come in MGM.

Yeah. And u get no rebates with pros. I’m getting a prettt good deal being an employee. Truck retails for 48 and they are giving me $4500 off. Plus the 0% apr or $2500 off. I wanna wait for 2020 cuz they are suppose to have Apple car play and push to start. But they are giving me 20k for my tundra and I can’t pass it up. I bought it for 40 in 2010 brand new. So not back for 9 years and only costing 20k. And people ask my why I only buy Toyota’s.
