This is why I'm that asshole that sends read receipts by default at work. If they don't accept it they either read it and didn't accept it or they haven't gotten to it yet. Ezgame

Not only does everyone need their hand held, they need to make sure the whole world knows they've been wronged and treated unfairly because 'momma didn't raise no bitch', when it fact...yes, yo momma did.

I'll knock the business a little bit.

People who are potential customers want to know they are being heard. 2-3k for a bumper is a lot of cash to most people (or sliders, which I acknowledge cost less), and part of running a high-end custom aftermarket fab shop is being friendly to folks so they feel confident and comfortable making that purchase. An automated email would piss me off. I would want a response from a person. Saying you are busy and you cant entertain more orders for a couple weeks or months is fine, but it needs to be said. I'll put this way. I'm literally in the market for one of these bumpers right now, and your shop is on my list of vendors to talk to. If I cant talk to someone, I wont buy from them. Its that simple. I would rather pay an extra $100 for this bumper so you can pay someone to answer the phone, than pay less and be in the dark about my purchase, or potential purchase. Good customer service can be as basic as letting people know you are available, or when you will be. When I call in a couple months, if I don't get an answer I wont buy anything.

I am the asshole that when I need to call my bank, I constantly repeat the phrase "speak with a person" over and over until I get a person. For all I know I could be sending my money to Russian troll scheme or random business that doesn't exist. My expectations are simple: take my phone call + answer my questions + give me some confidence that giving you my money is worth it = getting my money. Unless you want to next day air ship it to my house with free doorstep returns, I doubt I will change my perspective... do you guys take orders through Amazon?

Also, really nice bumpers by the way. I like the foldout camp table. That's an awesome feature.

I'm not very familiar with Union law and how that works out in payroll as I have always worked in right to work shops (thank god, from a biz mgmt perspective). I imagine they would be slightly lower, but there is still a good amount of overhead cost relating to 401k matching, added expense to corporate insurance, etc.

For example, in Salt Lake County, what you owe to renew your business license every year is partially dependent on headcount. So any new head you bring on adds X dollars to your bill.

Oh, yeah. His outburst and the Manning trial broke in my first month at the office. What a time that was.

Of course, the flag officer that was leading us is now in the clink himself so...

I only accepted ones that were on a distro of 500+ people. It brought joy knowing that their inbox is getting flooded with read receipts.

If they put a read receipt on a mass email, that just means they are an idiot.

We deal with the reply all disease a lot at work, but at least we aren't THIS GUY:

    • On 14 November 2016, the UK National Health Service NHSmail system experienced an email storm when an IT contractor at Croydon NHS sent a "test email" to everyone in the organisation—approximately 840,000 people. This resulted in an estimated 500 million email messages sent between 08:29 and 09:45 on 14 November 2016.[11]

    500 MILLION emails in 45 minutes :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

On 840K employees, that means everybody got 595 email in that time. One every 4 seconds for 45 minutes

You know as well as I do that there are a plethora of morons in the building. Some of the chain ‘reply all’ from JOs trolling was the highlight of my day.. or people at different sites that never got removed upon transferring.

It also gave me cover from missing some mundane request someone made through email. Sorry, missed that one champ. Was busy mass deleting.

Also.. that’d bring a server down. Hard.

Almost all of them were “please stop replying all”...while they were replying all. Ducking idiots.

As a licensed engineer, I get emails from various states where I hold stamps. I think it was Wyoming that sent an email blast to all of their licensed engineers, but they didn't BCC everyone, they just sent it out to the entire list with the email addresses listed. I got hundreds of "stop sending", "stop replying", "unsubscribe" emails from various idiots who replied all. It lasted for weeks.

I've been on a group text for an after work ultimate frisbee league when I lived in Seattle. I still get texts FIVE YEARS later. Thank god I found the mute notifications option. I was contemplating changing my phone number.

I used to work for a company of 7000+ employees. HR sent a mass email regarding our payroll vendor, please check your paychecks this week for errors. (It happens sometimes.) Some poor kid hit the reply all to ask a specific payroll question, and attached a copy of his latest paycheck. It was an office debate for a week on who was dumber, HR for not using a send-only account, or the kid that showed everyone his court ordered child support deductions?

Most of the folks on TW are your average joe with a cubical job (like me!). They have no idea what it takes to fabricate quality custom metal parts for off road use. The guys doing this work are very skilled at doing just that. Not marketing, not kissing people’s asses, not BSing, not even sticking to timelines now and then lol. They are not good at that because they don’t have the capital to pay teams of customer support folks or have logistics coordinate supply shit in their salve factory in china. Most are simply too small to operate like that just yet. I do a lot of work myself (bumpers, roll cages, LT suspensions) so I can tell you doing this by hand takes a lot of time and metal costs a lot! The profit margins these guys make are not much at all. If you want to get rich don’t open up a fab shop. Especially one that makes quality shit. I have many friends who run fab shops here in socal and they are not rollin the cash.
Also what else are you going to do? Not order that CBI/C4/mobtown bumper cuz they didn’t jack you off like you expected? K go buy a welder, tube bender and chop saw and get to work then. These parts aren’t sold on Amazon or Walmart so just give them your money and hope they get back to you sometime this year lol. It's your only choice...
