I’m running the KBVooDoo high rise bars. Keeps the tent about cab height with just enough space. Some people have had rust issues, but overall I’m very happy with mine. Purchased them new from a member off craigslist. Like everything, if you take care of them they are pretty awesome.

Just got mine installed, already noticed a few things. Basically all the bolts on it that I didn't install we're finger tight including all 6 of the main bolts that hold the folding mechanism together. I noticed them loose after seeing two nuts and a bolt in the bed of my truck after having the tent on the truck for a day. Also noticed that the rubber stoppers for the ladder do nothing and the screw used to install them is all that's resting on the hard material ontop of the folded tent. In two days it's already worn dents into the material. Gonna have to email smittybilt with photos so they know this has already happened so I don't have any issues warrantying it when the "roof" is completely bent in from the ladder.

i know its new so its frustrating, but i check my tent bolts every other trip just to make sure. Even my older CVT still backs out from time to time. Nothing catastrophic but still part of the game. Same with the floor where the ladder lands, itll get beat up fast regardless.

Yeah I'm just surprised they didn't used lock washers or locktite on anything. Im just going to pick up some rubber stick on stoppers to put on the roof to keep it from getting smashed in since the ladder is supposed to be used to open it up and all that leverage is put on the two screws on the roof.
Overall the tent is pretty nice, especially for the price. Was going to go out last weekend but my camping gear was stolen out of my truck while loading so I'll replace it and try again this weekend.

    nylock nuts should fix that...

And for the ladder, a simple aluminum plate there would do wonders, or at least rubber feet on the ladder.

I called my local store last week to follow up on my online order and they told me June 25th. I would be pissed but its like $300 cheaper than anywhere else I could find it, and at $900 i'm not a player.

...and now I’m being told they have no idea. They said HOPEFULLY mid July. I can’t find anything comparable for anywhere close to that price or I would tell them to refund me and go somewhere else. How the hell do you run a business like that?

I saw on the tent base where there was pre drilled holes at a 45 degree angle but I don’t see what would even go there.... and I also didn’t get self tapping screws with mine

For anyone that's considering ordering this tent in the regular or the XL, I've been calling 4 Wheel Parts every week for the last month. They basically have no idea when they're going to get these tents in. The website says "ready to ship" but that's a lie. Every time I call they push it back another week. I ordered mine on May 20th and was told I'd have it by June 25th. Now they're saying Mid July maybe. But nobody has them anywhere near as cheap as 4WP did on that sale so I guess I'm going to hold out.

I got lucky (or unlucky depending how you look at it) today.
I called 4WP just to check and they had 14 XL left in stock but at their East Coast location.
I had to pay $200 freight but got the tax discounted so it ended up being $1200.
According to the sales guy, they got in 500 of the regular model and all of them went in a day.

If I didn’t need it right away, I would have waited.

Now I just have to figure out the best way to mount it on my short bed.
