SOLD King 2.5 Coil-overs for a 5-6” lift SOLD

I had this posted in the 3rd gen section and think it makes more sense over here:
King Coil-overs for a 5-6” lift. These have longer longer rods and cylinders than stock and will NOT work without modifications to match the lift but will work on a lifted +05 Tacoma. $1050 shipped.


They are pretty scratched/roughed up as far as cosmetics but are overall sound. I bought them with a bunch of truck parts hoping to convert them but decided for the money it would be better to sell them to someone who needs this setup. The springs are 600# 14in long. They Measure about 24.5” long.

Wish I new for certain they would work with a 4" bracket lift if I pulled out the dumb spacers. If anyone knows I'd like to buy these.

 

That’s a really good question. Theoretically you would be moving the spacer from above the coil-spring, to below (with the longer shaft).

 

Droop the front of the truck and see how long it measures, it might work out.

This is for the front? Yes, I would be open to test for sure. I sold my jack set up as I live apartment style but could test at a buddy's soonish.

 

So I have a 4" bracket lift. I'm not terribly clear on what can be done but better shocks are definitely in order. Get rid of those risers. But I'm still at stock geometry and movement.

 

Long travel eventually. After I hit 500 rwhp. I'm only 95 away now.

 

Could I go cowboy and cut the spacer blocks down? I dont know.

 

I wish I knew the answer on this bracket lift. Someone out there in the TW universe must know.

 

I'm no car guru but if everything is still at stock geometry then that means the UCAs and LCAs are still at stock angles which means there is still room for lift. @White lightning boosted try measuring when you get a chance if it works this is a really sweet deal. I know these work with the pro comp drob bracket as I've seen videos online. But not sure how much the drop bracket actually drops in terms of inches. Hope this works out for both of y'all. I believe it's 1", but it's possible that different companies could vary. But I think 1 is probably a good average.

Measure your spacers, if you have a true 4" DB then you'll likely have 1" of DB and 3" spacers. If you measure and get 3, then you'll know where you stand on it. My guess is they're going to be taller than your current set up, but I'm only going by you statement of having a 4" DB. At the very least, by measuring your spacers, it will tell you how much your DB is lifting via the substructure drop.

 

So I actually had some time to measure however my tape is on a different job. Used a dollar bill as reference. This is a zone bracket lift. They make 4" and 6" kits. Judging by stance near other lifted tacomas I'm ASSUMING its 4". Heres a couple pics.

A dollar is just slightly over 2.5" wide. So, I'm guessing your spacers are 3-3.5", or so. But, lets assume they're 3" exactly. So with everything as it is now, taking them out and adding these coils will add 2-3" of lift above where you're currently at. That's based on the description of these coils being for a 5-6" lift. Those are approximate numbers, since we're not sure .. and frankly, I'm not 100% sure if there are any other factors I may be overlooking. But I think it's pretty safe to assume those numbers based on the info.

Good stuff. Here’s a little more info: stock kings measure 21.687”. These roughly measure 24.5”(based on my tape measure shown on the fist post). That’s a little less then 3”. I’m sure suspension geometry plays a big roll, but these are only 3” physically longer.

 

The best source would be to contact both Zone and King and get the exact details, then you can make a 100% informed choice with with probably zero guess work. Zone probably knows how much lift to expect if you take out the spacers, and that alone will probably tell you as much as you need to know.
