What am I looking at?

 

Years ago my dad and his gf went deer hunting along the Mississippi River. It's a pretty big chunk of state property with some private mixed in. Before he left I told him to be sure and take a compass cause the public land alone is 6k acres. Like a good pops, he heeded the kid's advice and took one. Late that night when he returned home, he had a story.
He had loaded his and her coats with as much beer as they could carry, loaded his .41 mag, and off they strolled. Close to dark they decided to head back. He checked his compass and off they went. After a little bit he heard a barge on the river. On the wrong side... He said he started cussin me for telling him to take the compass. He turns around and starts walking the other direction and hears the barge again, on the opposite side he had heard it before. He sat down to reevaluate his predicament. After sitting for some time, he heard barges on both sides. He then remembered that he was in a bend in the river and it was actually on both sides of him. He then started to have a little faith in the compass and made it back to the truck.
No animals were harmed in this adventure.


And yes, I'm aware of what the map looks like.

How do you select a GIF from a movie or video?

 

My gf has one for camping. Doesnt work too well, she fills the funnel up too fast and makes a mess.
