    My van sucks.

But thankfully it’s new to me, so I can blame the last guy.

it's pretty decent. I bought it a year after I bought my Mac box for work, so I was used to the deeper drawers on that (aside from higher quality in general), but it's nice and wide with lots of storage options. I would have preferred a tall top drawer, as I prefer having my sockets at the top. the butcher's block is pretty robust; I've attached a small vice on it. it doesn't play well with chemicals though. I had a can of paint thinner that I guess leaked a little and sat there for a week. the finish is all fucked up now but I'm sure I could sand it down if I really wanted to. It's probably way too big for your average Joe, but I have a stupid amount of tools

Yeah, there are some really big, and by big I mean long, consumer boxes out there now. But I like boxes that are shorter in length, so I have more options about how to lay out, or change, how I use my garage floor space. And I'm short, so going vertical is not a good option for me. I recently was frustrated with my increasing lack of space in my Craftsman box, but didn't want to just upsize my primary mechanical box. And I also needed a new bench, but just didn't have the time to plan and build one. So, I got this 8 foot Husky bench with adjustable legs that is stout as hell, and a shorter Husky box to roll underneath it and hold a combination of wood tools, measurement tools, note pads/wiring/drafting stuff, and small random shit. I put the box on a low-slung PortaMate universal mobile base so I didn't need to use the tall 5-inch casters and could get it under the bench, but still be able to move it if wanted very easily.

This is freeing up space in the bigger red box so I can finally start getting some tool drawer organizers to take advantage of unused air space above tools like pliers but turning them on edge.

On the bench top, yeah, some of these look nice, but are softer with some sort of poly coating that won't last long looking pretty. I'll probably end up putting as sheet of masonite over the top of this once it gets ugly, and then the masonite can be changed out once every several years when needed.

I also got a couple small auto drip pans at a local auto shop. I guess they are motorcycle size, but I have those handy to put on top of the bench if I'm doing anything nasty, greasy, solventy, etc. Learned that tick from another member on here years ago.
