Hey everyone, I'm looking for a small daily tacoma and this caught my eye. https://www.dependablecarsanchorageak.com/details/used-2006-toyota-tacoma/55228643
My question is does it seem like a good deal, what should I look out for?
Winters are long here in alaska but I usually stay on main roads so should be fine for winter. Got away with using my 92 civic with all seasons this last winter. Im just driving back down to the lower 48 next year so a truck would be great for hauling my stuff.

Can't see much on maintenance, car fax doesn't tell me much, i would probably get a pre purchase inspection. Im going to test drive it today I'll look at the frame and all

I've never been to Alaska personally, but if I lived there I sure as hell wouldnt do it without 4wd. That's just my 2 cents from growing up in a rural mountainous town in northern CA.

It's well established here and the roads are plowed and gaveled often. But I understand 2wd isn't popular here lol.

It looks good to me! One thing though, the interior is gray not beige, so I hope it's not a "bait and switch". Go and drive it.

Just drove it, some reason the transmission dipstick had grease caked on it, but the fluid was still pink. the serpentine belt was cracked horribly and the ac belt was missing. Valve cover has been leaking. The frame had a little rust but nothing bad. Oh and it still has winter tires on it and they just pulled out the studs... other than that it drove fine and shifted good. The paint had lots of chips all over it. Tire pressure warning light was on. He tried to offer 8500 for it but I said I need to think about it.

Just know there is a significant difference between a front wheel drive car with the engine providing weight, and a rear wheel drive truck with an empty bed. If you do purchase it, make sure you run around with some secured weight in the bed, especially if you're not going to run studs.
