Don’t use plastic. Wood would be better but you’d have to seal it up

My wife now wants to use it to hang her clothes in the yard.....what a wasted effort.....I will explore alternatives...we have a bed extender, but I have an OEM tonneau cover to deal with

Bummer. Wood/metal has less flex so you’ll probably have better luck anyway

it's definitely both, the new knobs are much easier to use, the stock ones are a bit slippery, but since i hardly use them, it's all looks for me

Can you use tie down straps to stabilize it?

Hey is this dude sitting on a seat or kneeling down? I have been in all types of boats even worked on the river for 15+ years. Never been in a canoe though.

Saw this rack while I was looking at those canoes.

Mine is the Erickson Big Bed Extender Jr......works the same way (costs a lit more in Canada)....and was fine loading the canoe for the trip from the retailer, but I had hoped to use the tow for a bike rack...hence the in bed pvc thing....I will figure out something

It depends on what ceramic coating you get. They can last 1yr, 3yrs, 5yrs, or lifetime. Most people that do this much, really enjoy taking care of their vehicle. It's their hobby.

Boondocks makes a great bed extender for kayaks. I use it for more than hauling yaks and canoes around. Cost around $250 when I bought mine. Best thing is it is curved upward so it doesn’t drag dirt or pavement. Adjustable for different trucks.

Easy access, ground clearance, and don’t forget general badasserie. Only complaint is the Wilco I have has a push pin to secure. On a bumpy Offroad it does start to come out.
