What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Heard a squeaking sound and noticed my shock rubbing on my LCA. My lower bushing was frozen thanks to New England salt. Time to get the fox shocks rebuilt

 

Go back and read the directions for install. You might want to notch the rear upper shock mount for the Resi hose. It looks really close in your pics. Just an FYI because:

I was able to get my LED Lights mounted today, but they are not wired yet. I was having issues getting the cable through the firewall and I ran out of time. Also, I need to get a new switch for the lights. The one that came with it doesn't fit, so any recommendations on switches?

It depends on how many lights you will want. I dont know a lot about switches, but ive already drilled two big holes in my panels for switches, ever thought about a switch panel?

You could get a stock tacoma switch from the dealer and put it in one of the slots left of the steering coloumn.

I decided it was the day to put the top coat on my rock sliders.
Base coat: pinnicle endura zinc 703
Top coat: sherwin williams acrolon 218



I tried to do as much of them as i could with a roller so it gives it some texture, the rest of the tight spots i just used a regular brush.

Im hoping to put them back on the truck tomorrow!

I dont think I want to drill out any holes, I might look for a stock Tacoma switch that just pops in. I'm not sure I am at the point I need a switch panel. I'm going to try to just fill in the stock slots.

 

You should have 3 switch blanks below AC controls. Look on Amazon for CH4x4 small Toyota push switches they fit those spots

I didn't like how I routed my previous harness so I removed it and ran another one.
The new one follows the OEM harness. Had to stop cause it started to rain.

 

Having a cookout with it it's a nice Saturday here in HotLanta

you're a brave man..this sounds like a nightmare to me.

 

I was able to remove this plastic (red line), put the new wires in it and re-tape it. Makes for a cleaner install and the radio will be easier to install. There were too many bundles of wires the way I had it before and you had to push on the radio to install the screws.

The new wires are in that white plastic piece. I had them at the bottom of the dash but they interfered with a metal bracket, the hood release and it was just too "busy" at the base of the column.

 

Attended this! And later replaced both burned out headlight bulbs. Why did they only last 4 months?

 

In the process of installing Marlin Crawler HD LCA CAM adjuster braces. Will post pics when done.

Did you touch bulds w/ your fingers? Oils from your skin can cause them to go out prematurely
