Yep my gas cap was loose and my light came on, will the light go out on its own or do I have to pull the negative cable and reset? I only driven it 20 mi so far since. Thanks.

The light will go out after a few driving cycles.

You have to pull the code out.

no. any decent shop or dealer with the meter should have no problem doing that for you for nothing. it takes 1 minute. Even auto zone etc have those code readers and can bring one out.

I would definitely recommend buying a obd2 code reader. You can get one for around $25 on Amazon. Mine works with my smartphone using the Torque app. It's well worth the money.

Autozone will clear it for free.

I did the same thing and the light went out on its own.

My auto zone only checks they told me they can’t clear. I bought the kiwi 3 obd reader and use the fusion app with the iphone great app and it clears codes
