I dont use it with mig. Some do though. Its usually a tig thing.

Also make sure the tank is still refillable/in date. Some suppliers are real finicky about taking tanks from other locations too.

I've taken apart several Tacoma seats, buckets, 60/40, and the bench to part out. They're all integral parts of the seat, there is no easy way to take only the rails off. Only the full bench seat can truly have the rails removed easily.

The rails on the buckets and 60/40 are part of of the skeleton for the seat cushion. You can take the rails off, but you really gotta tear into the seat to get them out.

    This should help:

There's a date sticker on it from AirGas of October 2016, only three years old. I think the tank of C25 I have is that old.

Can I use it with MIG though, is there much of a difference than C25? My welder door says I can use C25, or pure CO2 but not Argon.

All I need to do is take the metal side brackets off and switch the cushions out on them, appears to be just 3 14mm bolts per side just by looking at the seat. That diagram isnt really clear on how its integral to the seat cushion frame.

You can. But most dont. Only thing I know is what google tells me. Screenshot_20190622-211922.jpg

Ive always been told to just stick with C25/gold gas for mig.

Maybe I worded that wrong. You basically have to tear the seat apart to get the rails out, the rails are part of those side members. You have to take I believe four bolts on the side members out, the seatback, the tube under the seat, as well as the metal linkage for the seat rail mechanism.

You can swap them over though. Just tedious.

That sux. The tank of Argon was free so I figured I'd use it. AirGas charged me like $150 to buy a tiny tiny 10cf tank of C25, even with a student discount.

What's the advantage of TIG over MIG?

Thats interesting. Because it looks so easy just by poking around under the seat.

Really all I need to do is swap the bottom cushions of the ones I bought now that I think about it. Thats where all the damage is on the drivers side.

Prove me wrong then. It's not difficult, just tedious.

Pretty-er. And no sparks flying around in garages full of flammable materials. Thats my main reasons.

Probably should learn how to use my MIG welder first before I drop $1,000+ on a TIG welder.

I rethought it. All I have to do is swap bottoms and use my stock passenger seat.

You catch on pretty quick. Just keep a pile of sharp tungstens nearby.
