What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

This is Step 1 to correct a screw up. Long story sorta short, I paid a guy I know to wire up the raptor lights in my grille. I’ve known him all my life, he’s out of work, and he knows how to wire...or at least that was the impression. Tried to do the guy a solid, and well...he tried. 2 days later, the lights quit working. Tore it all apart, and it was a hack job. So much so, that the one plug of the factory harness for the DRL’s needs replaced. Just taped it up and remove the 10A DRL fuse for the time being. Hoping that step 2 is tomorrow.



Made the cable with parts from Ballenger Motor Sports and DEL City. Hindsight being 20/20, I should’ve made this cable to begin with, and spliced in a weather proof AMP connector to the cable for the raptor lights, and made it all plug-n-play. Wouldn’t have needed to cut the factory harness at all.

Going to have to take off the grille and remove left headlight bucket in order to get enough access to the mangled plug to replace it properly. Hopefully the weather holds and it gets done tomorrow.

Father has been doing upholstery for over 40 years and I refuse to take apart another car seat. Otherwise I’d do mine.

Had these for about 6 months- finally got them installed. Avs matte black low profile. Of course my ocd took over so I clayed the windows, removed the water spots and a quick ceramic spray coating before I could install. Now I really need to do the cap windows and windshield… Big difference

 

Good picture...the lighting gives the impression that your truck is maroon metallic.

 

Finally got around to installing the @KTJO 4x4 pop n lock kit I’ve had in my mod pile and a train horn kit today...can’t say enough about the pop n lock...thx ktjo and the horn is stupid loud...tapped power off of the stock horns and left them connected as well for extra loudness...just had to switch the horn fuse from a 10 to a 20 to make it all work...feeling good..next is cleaning up the rats nest of wires under the hood with my PowerTray and blue seas fuse box..that’s for another day though!

 

Did you do the centre console wrap as well?

 

Installed Bay Area Metal Fab bumper reinforcement brackets. The ones that came with this bumper would require a mod of the resi bracket or relocation of the resi. These are 100% beef and require none of that.

Where did you get metal letters?

 

Just got in my MBRP 3 inch cat back exhaust. Sounds phenomenal even for the v6.
