So I got to thinking about this seat swap I want to do. I wasnt really happy that my new drivers seat had holes and tears, and would require a seat cover to stay looking good. So, I noticed that the stock passenger seat in my truck is identical to the passenger seat I bought today, which is immaculate. Ok, so no real need to remove my stock passenger seat then. Since the only damage to my new drivers seat is on the bottom cushion, Ill just swap the cushion with the perfect one from my spare passenger seat. Well, that idea works perfect! Only issue is real minor, and thats that the vinyl will be facing out instead of in on my new drivers seat. But meh, no biggie there, if anything the vinyl is more resistant to tears than the fabric so its good that it will be facing the door.

As with most Amazon listings, shits wrong.

The 2767 M18 FUEL™ High Torque ½” Impact Wrench with Friction Ring eliminates the need to use a pneumatic tool for those stubborn and rusted bolts by delivering 1,000 ft-lbs of fastening torque and 1400 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque.

My stubby Aircat 1055-TH does like 650ft lbs of break torque. Pretty stout for its compact size. Only thing is, is that using a universal joint with an impact sucks all the power away. Mine couldnt do my brake caliper bolts because of that.

I am very happy with my Milwaukie Fuel M18 mid-level 1/2" drive impact gun with three levels of torque settings. The max being 1000 ft. lbs. I recall the price being under $200

Damn, are your brake caliper bolts on that tight? I got mine off with a 3/8th ratchet.

    Is it this one?

    Milwaukee MLW2861-20 Mid-Torque Impact Wrench (M18 Fuel 1/2") https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H7CZHYB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OAUdDb857FQ55

I’m looking for a good electric impact to use at the junkyards. The 1,400 ft-lbs of the bigger gun is nice, but it’s too bulky for what I do. I’m currently using a DeWalt 20v impact gun. Good enough for pulling horns, but when it gets to anything else it can’t touch it.

Rust is better than any man made thread locker. Had to use the breaker bar+floor jack method.

My front differential came from a rust bucket 4Runner, the brake dust shield crumbled in my hands. I’m actually surprised I managed to get that diff out without an issue. The entire time I was removing it rust flakes would be falling in my face.

Yup. Awesome gun. Worth the money but it looks like it is less than 1000. I bought mine on sale at Home Depot.

Thats the best part about working under a rusty vehicle. The flakes. Gotta have good safety squints on or suffer the consequences.

Turn the end with the washer on it. If the washer is on the head of the bolt turn that. If washer is on the nut turn that. You can tq a bolt either way, the side with the washer is the rotating part.

Good rule of thumb! And since the last mechanic forgot to install the lock washer on two bolts, I'm assuming the nut-side is preferred.

I got my new 600lb fox coilovers along with my new UCAs installed. I had new LBJ's, outer tie rod ends and a new rack and pinion installed as well since it was leaking. Not looking forward to my bill. 20190622_154206.jpg

I've had good luck over the years with any hard to break driveline or suspension bolts/nuts by using an impact grade socket. I may not be using my impact driver for certain bolts that require extra care, but the rough surface of the impact grade sucket will not slip off or try to twist off like chrome-plated sockets. It made the difference between success and having to cut off a bolt on many occasions.
