One could also argue, Why solve the problem with complex technology when you can throw a much more simple convex mirror at it...?

Love my RAV4 mirrors 100x more than I ever did that stupid BSM light.

If I’m gonna be looking at my mirror, I want to physically see that there is a car in my blind spot, not some little light on the mirror (that was hard to see during the day anyway).

They are a good purchase. I think mine were $90 shipped from oempartsource

Nope. It only has a connection for the heated mirror. That's it.

This, but no one will listen. I teach high performance driving and the first thing we do is adjust mirrors and seat backs.

The older drivers among us will recognize the huge increase in tire tracks spinning into guard rails on freeways. We almost never saw those years ago. The cause? Distracted/texting drivers drifting into the rear quarter panel of other drivers that didn't see it happening. Tap, over correct, and you're a passenger.

    Adjust your mirrors!

Pretty sure everyone understands to adjust the side and rear view mirrors. Yes we all know 10 and 2, head check... blah blah blah. Almost every vehicle has blind spots even after all those adjustments.

OP wants to minimize or eliminate those blind spots. I’m sure people still know to head check. Personally I like to have the little round mirrors so I can use them to keep an eye on what’s behind me, in those blind spots as I drive. Or use them when I tow a trailer to keep an eye on it. If I need to change lanes, I do a head check.

The RAV4 mirrors... I can watch a vehicle approach from behind in the normal portion of the mirror. As they come up into the blind spot, the blind spot portion of the mirror picks up the vehicle so that you can still see the vehicle in BOTH mirrors. And I can still see the vehicle in the little blind spot mirror when it's well up into my own peripheral vision.

So, the mirror really does cover it all.

I still look over the shoulder out of habit, but on a two lane hi-way or interstate, the RAV4 mirrors do what they're designed to do. They eliminate the blind spots on both sides of your vehicle.

I believe so. They have a wire connector that plugs into the mirror.

They work well, when a car is passing you have total view from the regular mirror to the convex portion to your peripheral vision. I really got them for my GF, I can’t get used to them and still glance over my shoulder before changing lanes though.

I have the same issue. Like my muscle memory isnt to view the convex mirror. I look at the main and have to force/remind myself to use the convex.
