I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a 1998 taco with 32 in tires. I just put some Bilstein 5100s on with a 1.67" lift. Put the old coils on which are apparently lift coils. Do not know which brand or how high they lift. I took pics of my upper ball joint attached to the upper control arm after lift. This is the truck sitting under it's own weight. My question would be is this too much stress on the upper ball joints?? Please any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah that's too much lift for the stock upper control arms/upper ball joints. You should lower the 5100s to the zero lift setting. Let the springs do the lifting, ideally. And get some aftermarket upper control arms like SPCs or JBAs, etc. esp if you want that much lift

I heard a sound when I drove it yesterday. Sounded like I was dragging a piece of metal. I don't think that is related ( probably put left rotor on right side and right on left). Irregardless unrelated. It drove fine other than that. Suspension felt stiff.

on the street it'll probably drive ok but if you do any flexing of the suspension you could easily damage those stock upper ball joints. Not to mention your alignment will probably be thrown off with how maxed out they are right now.
Looks like you have about 3 inches of lift in the front which is far more than the stock upper control arms are meant to handle. You'll need aftermarket ones if you want to maintain that ride height safely and comfortably

Thanks eon_blue and ThunderOne, appreciate the quick reply. I will probably just lower the 5100s to stock or rob a bank and get some ucas.

You probably just leaned on that brake dust shield and it's touching the rotor. Happens to everyone.
