What you need to do is sell her on the idea that you are somehow making the truck better so she is OK with the expense.

Years ago when I had my Tundra, I had purchased a set of the Bilstein 5100 Lifting Shocks with some birthday money from Mom and Dad, but I needed to figure out a way to get them installed without her blowing a gasket over the installation cost. Then one way we were walking across a parking lot. She looked at my truck from a distance and asked "Why is the front end of your truck lower than the back end?" referring to the factory rake.

Ah, now's my chance. I cranked up the Bullshit Generator to full power and replied "That's because the front shock absorbers are wearing out. The weight of the engine is causing them to sag."

Her response: "Well you better get that fixed. We can't afford to buy a new truck right now so we need to take care of the one we have."

Oh, Wifey, you were always such a prudent one. "OK, I'll set up an appointment to get it taken care of."

Her: "Alright, but don't wait too long."

Well being as I now work at a winery I will have to check around and see what is happening. Wilderness on 3 usually has Saturday activities. I’ll see what’s happening , post it, and y’all can go to whatever you’d like. Idk if I’ll. E able to make it to any but they should be fun. I believe Old House has their pub open now (adults only) also
