That is always my biggest fear is having someone call an ambulance on me. Its like unless I’m truly dying YOU will pay the bill LOL.

I got into a car accident in 2015, and it was bad, not gonna lie, of course ambulance was called. My husband was cut up from some glass. EMTs asked if we needed anything. I said “No”. He asked for a band aid. I slapped his shoulder and was like “great! Thats a $700 band aid!”

    We never got a bill...

Hopefully its all a reasonable bill. Glad your head is OK. Stay away from the ocean long enough for your head and foot to heal.

I just caught something in this post. And if I have ever said “that’s gay” I did not mean it in a offensive way for the record. It’s just a phrase lol. I’m not a hate or judgements type.

Buttt ocean = salt water. Salt = good for healing. Right? :p

Haha I don’t think you ever have... but I’m sure you meant it as something was super awesome right?!

    Thanks tho.

Salt water is good for healing but maybe not so much all the fish poop floating in it.

Ya. I knew they had called the EMTs, because they told me. Wish they hadn’t, but I understand. They’re covering their asses and doing their jobs. With head injuries you never really know. I know I didn’t hit the bottom or anything and I just got cracked by my board as I was coming up. I tried telling the ambulance I didn’t want to go multiple times but they kept insisting. I know next time to say something like “I do not want to be taken in the ambulance, I will sign a piece of paper saying I declined to be taken”.

My foots all good now. Head will be good once I get the staples out. I felt fine right after getting hit, only reason I went in was because I saw blood on my board and then saw my hand covered in blood so knew I probably was in need of sutures haha. I’m feeling great today, minus the whole stapled head area

Fish poop is the least of my worries where I surf. More worried about human shit and whatever else the stupid fucking people throw down the drain and in to the rivers that drain to the ocean right in front of the spot I surf.

California has to store all of its guns somewhere! Safes are a good place.

And California’s high wages and opportunities keep me Whole Foods full. :)

    I
I'm sure the increased pay still is enough to overcome the cost of living LOL

I like my low cost of living area. I look forward to no house payment when I'm 30. In CA I'd be in debt till the day I die HAHA

I hear ya, as you say, it might take more hard work to succeed in California, but the experience of true self reliance and reward of living in such a beautiful and cutting edge place is more than worth it.

And yeah, the pay definitely outweighs the cost. I couldn’t afford to leave CA!:D

Used to argue this and say Cali is the worst. But so many of y’all are moving to Texas, I’m hoping people stop coming so I agree now! Cali is the best! Move there and stay there! :p

I know what you're saying, the Ocean is awesome. So many peeps there is bound to be a % of idiots, but that is everywhere, just more population here.

I also enjoy the freeways when no jams/sig-alerts.

You’ll get there. Just keep pushing past the sucky part and build up to it. Took a while to get where I can run like this b

    Practice practice practice.

Over time your stride will improve and your body will get more efficient at it.

But remember the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Best way to learn to run faster is to run faster. Speed work is yo friend!

I did my 400m repeats yesterday. Almost died... almost.

Also not sure if you guys know but 180 spm is the ideal running cadence. You want more quicker strides not long ones. There are App you can upload your fav music too and it will sync it to 180bpm so it helps you mentally run faster.

Another tip, if you guys do like biking (I don’t it sucks) speed work on bikes of over 100 rpm will help train your nervous system to have faster strides when running.
So some bike intervals on those days you don’t want to run can be helpful. Plus good form of cross training.

That dude has A LOT of mass for being able to run like that and he's 51. Ultra guys are typically skin and bones. Plus he's a bad ass bow hunter. Dude is like who I want to be at 51 LOL
