Southern Style Offroad Slimline Hybrid. The day after it was put on I drove from DFW to deep east Texas then came back a few days ago. Drove both ways with cruise control on and it worked like a charm. The bullbar part is low and tight enough to the body that it shouldn't have any affect on the sensor.

Not today but recently. The knot head that rotated the tires scratched some of the plasti dip of off my center caps so I took the Toyota logos off, got the rest of the plasti dip off, roughed up the paint on the caps, primed then painted black. Then I put on TRD stickers instead of putting the Toyota logos back on. That plus the lug nut covers and I think they came out pretty good.032F96C6-8AA8-4EA6-9FE4-899AF41C05F4.jpg

I bet you could find someone close by with a SR or SR5 that would love to swap their black handles for your chrome ones. Win-win and free. Win-win-win!

    Here's robmpii's original thread.

And yes, they're badass. When I first saw what he did with these, I personally thought they looked kickass, were definitely something that you don't see every day, so had to try it.

Tried them out last night in a fairly dark area (hard to do around town with all the light pollution and traffic) and these things are damn bright, the wide driving pattern seems about perfect to me for this application, and I now have a nice 180* field of light from the mirrors forward. If you've ever done a sharp or full turn at night out in the sticks you know how blind you basically are off to the side of the vehicle trying to make that turn. Or have had a cow, deer or elk you didn't see seemingly jump out of nowhere from the side of the road, this solves those problems beautifully, cleanly, and in a low key, unique way.

I do a lot of my off road driving at night, but did not want a-pillar light pods on my vehicle. Problem solved.

Quoting my own post as an update:

Step 2 is complete. Had to remove the grille, drivers side headlight, and the battery to get enough room to re-pin and replace the connector and properly wrap the factory harness. Got everything back together and working properly.

Even had time to finally install the Subaru/Kicker Tweeters (which was way easier than I expected). Should’ve took some pics along the way, but it really wasn’t much to see that hasn’t already been covered here ad nauseam. I will say this much; huge improvement in sound quality! To my ears, it’s a good 25% improvement. Makes me want to put better speakers in the doors now.

How hard was the removal? And why did you decide not to do the grill itself as well?

Looking at doing the same thing. Interested in your thought process.

    Looks great

Grill removal is surprisingly easy. YouTube it, just use care with the grill tabs.

Made an extension for the blue seas (1045) 4.8 dual usb socket in the armrest console. This continues my no cutting into factory harness saga. I was going to slide in the disconnects into the plug but it was too deep to make a connection so I removed the plug keeping the terminals intact and heat shrink the connection.
