600 for a housing and locker is pretty solid.

I have never driven a front wheel drive vehicle with an MT and have been waiting a very long time for a sharp looking little car show up that wasn't bonkers priced at 30g or 40g +++ ... just waiting to figure how much 'work' my Taco is gonna need to keep tipTop condition

It can be done but you run the risk of warping the mounting face. Can be solved by using a lot of rtv to fill the gaps. If you buy an incomplete e locker you may be missing the actuator and they are worth their weight in gold.

Yep. I just did the easy route and had ECGS drop in an ARB and Nirto 5.29's F/R. Then threw some RCV CV's in the front to make it solid. lol

The only shaft difference is abs to non-abs.

AKAIK the only difference is the length of the spline not the spline count.

Last time I checked, paying $600 is better than paying $4,000.

My wallet RSVP'd to it's funeral a long long time ago.

If you're really considering a LB up front ask yourself how hard do you think you'll wheel? Hard enough to break the stock spider gears? If that answer is no, proceed. If that answer is yes, save up and get the ARB.

$4,000 is the price for a new axle housing, brake shoes, drums, and regear.

I have a complete 4.88 gearset in line that I got a good deal for. $600 is what I’ve paid for the housing, and axle shafts. All I need is a motor and I have a full 4.88 regear with an elocker.

Plus time and labor to have a much weaker R&P. The cost upfront isn't the only thing you need to worry about here. lol

So? I don’t need the third. I already have a 4.88 third. Why the hell would I pay $1200 when I can only pay $600 for a housing?

I’m trading someone 4.10 front and rear gears for his 4.88. The only money I’m paying is for the new axle housing.
