that area doesn't have too much - too close to the park on the east and too much private land everywhere else. there is one usfs trail to the west but you have to back track up hwy 287 a bit to get on it. its usfs road 209, takes you through some old clear cut areas and ends at a trailhead. nothing really spectacular up there from what I remember. Red rock road south of henry's lake is a decent drive, good road. there are a few roads closer to ennis if you're interested, one area in particular is axolotl lakes. thats inbetween ennis and virginia city, little tricky to find the start of the road from the ennis side too. don't recommend it if its been raining though, the road has a lot of clay in it and gets nasty really quick.

Uh oh... I might have to bail possibly. That weekend may be the only time I get to go anywhere on the rents dime ever again... They are going to Silverwood and said they would pay my way if I went. I may be able to get them to reschedule, but you never know. I wanna make it to this meet dammit!!! Broken truck and all!

Convince them that the trip would interfere with your studies...and Labor Day weekend is just around the corner. Much more convenient to go over that 3-day weekend don't you think?

Saw a Speedway blue Tacoma driving down Willson today. Dark tint, aftermarket wheels/tires. Looked good, who was it?

Glad to hear you made it back safely. Hope the rain didn't spoil the trip home.

So where are we going? Are we meeting up Friday or Saturday?

Actually, I was glad to see the rain - made it easier to leave. who wants to be out hiking in a downpour?!?! And it was freezing at Logan pass yesterday morning.

I think everyone is showing up Friday? Maybe. Getting more concerned about figuring out where we are going....it snowed last night in the mountains south of here. Considered ditching work to go up there and check it out but I do have a few things to get done here. And I put almost 1,000 miles on the truck this last weekend so it needs a break!
