I'm back! Still debating the new Bronco, Ranger, 4Runner, and Tacoma. Don't think it's a good sign NOTHING has been released about the Bronco by now though.

This. When researching to buy my first truck, I was weary of getting in a Tacoma with a sun roof after wanting one for so long... only to realize that my 6’1” 195 was gonna make it terrible.

Hop in for a test drive, and wow this thing is a plane hanger compared to my previous vehicles. I’ve always been a steering wheel hugger anyway, but I can only assume a lot of the folks with issues must be coming from full sized trucks/SUVs. Heck, my wife’s rav4 feels like driving a go cart after 3 weeks in the taco.

    None... yet
I can confirm this... I'm your height just a bit heavier (225), Ive never owned a car only full size trucks. I bought my taco and am fine with it, but I admit I was spoiled by the bigger trucks. The only thing I REALLY miss is laying my left leg over a bit further before hitting the door panel, but other than that it’s plenty of room and I’ve adjusted just fine. This is coming from someone who will drive hours in my own truck to avoid riding in a car.

I'd wait a few years before buying a totally new model or even gen. I know it's been around in other countries but as far as I'm concerned that means nothing until it's been here a few years with what's installed here and nowhere else. .

I was in the same position as you at the beginning of the year...almost ended up going with the Ranger in the blue colour they have. I actually don’t mind the look of it at all but I really disliked the interior design. Just seemed...vanilla? I dunno, much happier with the display/layout of the Taco.
Like the manual transmission so far but have had some minor annoyances with the clutch. Exterior looks better than the Ranger.
Huge selling point for me was the resale value...I have no idea what’s going to happen with these Rangers and the Taco is tried and true.

Every Ranger I’ve seen out and about has left me feeling validated in my purchase haha. Few months in and very happy with my decision so far!

Do to not needing 4X4, I have always bought 2X4 Toyota trucks. I have never had problems with them. 4X4’s are more complex and driven in rugged terrain therefore, more things to break.

Biggest reason not to get the Ranger/Bronco - First model year. Wait a few years so see how they are holding up and work the new model bugs out.

Ford Ranger will get you better mpg. it also is much better power train. If you like the interior and exterior of the Ranger that would be the one to get. Reality is it comes down to what you like and what is most important to you. Wife and I are not fans of the looks of it.
