    Running methanol isnt either. About another 10 dollars a tank.

    I also found 100 octane at a station, about an hour from my house, for $8-$9/gal. The Shelby gets some when we got to the track, but I haven't seen a need for it in the Tacoma.

    Hi guys. I have installed the v6 1grfe supercharged engine into my Toyota Hilux. Yes I’m from Australia.
    I’ve been doing a lot of reading on this forum and other places. I’m looking at installing the 2.5” pulley on the sc but it seems that the fuel pump upgrage is needed along with a 7th injector kit.
    I have recently (today) spoken with a dyno guy who I took the car to and told him what I wanted to do. He said I don’t need to upgrade the fuel pump and the 7th injector is just a way to get in more fuel. He said he can accomplish all those things by just remapping the ecu.
    Can anyone comment on this please? Thanks

    What exactly are your power goals? It's really hard to tell you what you will need without more specifics, I also would like to know what transmission you have, but if you want 50+ more HP out of the blower then you will undoubtedly need a new fuel pump. I know the Hilux is different from the Tacoma but I wish imagine the fuel pump is the same sub-par quality. I don't know of the tuners vehicle specific experience but (to me) it sounds like he is way wrong here.

    By the way you don't need a 7th injector for all this. That is just additional fueling which technically cools the rotors prior to them building boost.

    I’m just after more torque and kw and from what I’m reading a smaller pulley is the way to go. Just after more power in general and if it’s possible to get a little more power higher up in the rev range then that’s a bonus.

    A smaller pulley IS the easiest way to make more torque on these, however, you cannot just slap a pulley on it and go, and you also require a fuel system with higher demand capabilities over what the stock offering has if you want to ensure it can keep up with the demands of that massive amount of forced air you are inducing into the combustion chamber. There is a difference between fuel pressure and fuel volume and the OE pump is not capable of keeping up with the added volume a 2.5 pulley would require at wide open throttle.

    Next. If you are an automatic you NEED to run a modified valve body which can shift through your gears faster over OEM or you will burn your transmission out.

    The TRD fuel injectors can withstand power running through them, but it also depends on if you run your setup boost referenced or not.

    What sort of tuning do you guys have out there? If you have access to, I would highly recommend HPTuners.
