    For two years and my entire Afghanistan deployment I was a mortar team leader. I've never received the 11C MOS though. I was an 11B mortarman.

    They were hurting for 11C dudes in Afghanistan during the '10-'13 timeframe, so i participated in an experimental cross training program. I graduated top of the class and they gave me a mortar team which I lead during that deployment. PCS'd after that to Fort Hood and back on the Bradley I went.

    Gotcha. I was in a Stryker brigade. I went from driver, to dismount rifleman, to team leader, to Stryker VC/.50 gunner, then back to team leader

    At hood I worked in the tower, Korea was the motor pool kicking tires and rearranging connex boxes or in the field.

    My Korea excellence was the same. Motorpool every day, pack/unpack connexes, go to the field, did an alert or get drunk on my time off.

    We couldn't participate in the sports events because of the op tempo. Every one who tried couldn't make it to games and practice. :(

    I didn't get to "earn" my spurs. I had duty for several spur rides and one i was in the middle of a DA PCS move from 1st BDE 1CAV to 2nd BDE 1CAV. They legitly cut me PCS orders not transfer orders and reset my time on station at Fort Hood. :mad:
