looks great! looks like your face frame and doors are painted oak, a refreshing look by showcasing some of the oak grain texture..

...seems all i've been doing of late is built-ins, ...getting everything to fit into inexact and confined spaces, scribing, and dealing w/ large assemblies is no easy feat!

...was a pleasure to use to get square crosscuts quickly on plywood i'm dimensioning for my current cabinetry/built-ins project..

i have two tracks, ...i use my 75" track for the longer cuts (i.e. "rip"), ..then, when i'm ready to do a crosscut, swap that out for the 55" track w/ the track square attached... makes quick work of it, ..and from what i can tell, as close to 90 deg as i'll ever get!

What track saw are you using ?

I think the TSO square is good to 1/1000th of an inch in 8'

What if I’m only good to 1/10th of an inch even with the square?

go for it, ...certainly a justifiable expenditure given the volume of work you're doing in various locations...

Been a while since I've gotten to work on the benches. Had some new website projects come up that took priority. Yesterday was staining. Part 1 of our Sikkens weatherproofing system. This is how they're looking as of this morning. As soon as I finish my coffee, the wife and I are going back out there to put on the topcoat. Stuff is extremely waterproof, apparently it's what they put on the outside of log cabins.

I put the bench out in the yard to take photos and Odin walked right up and plopped down next to it. Odin approves.

Yeah I hear that, fortunately for us we have a covered patio and no crazy animals. It'll mostly get used by our cat, but these are extremely comfortable with the cushions on them. I'm really laying a thick coat of the waterproofing because of the Texas heat & humidity. I'll likely re-coat over the next few years to ensure optimum sealant but I would suspect they're good to go.

I plugged the lag screw holes with dowel rods, but I sunk them in a few millimeters so I can glue in brass inserts. Hoping they come out nice, but I won't know until probably Monday or Tuesday when I feel like the top coat has fully cured.

I realize it's a little late for this project, but have you looked in to thermally modified wood for outdoor projects?
