Are there any plug and play remote starts for a 2nd gen? Or any that are relatively easy?

I have no personal experience with him other than he me chimed in on a thread about either brand of remote start saying that he's got a very nearly plug and play option for some years and I know there are completely plug and play for later years.

The non plug and play are moderately involved, but definitely attainable if you know how automotive electrics work (wow to wire a relay, how your ignition and starter work, etc.).

    Best of luck!

They make partial P&P setups. Basically you get the harness for the ignition, power and accessory. The rest has to be hardwired. About 10 wires or so.

Be careful, I did a 2015 two weeks ago with this kit, two things you need to know:

    1. Two of the wires on this manual aren’t correct, location and color.

    2. You’ll need to supplement this kit with an RF Kit/FOB(s) or Smart Phone Module. You don’t get 3X lock on your OEM fob unfortunately. But definitely doable and I would have to look back at my notes on which wires were the correct ones that are incorrectly referenced in this manual. If you end up getting it from @jmeitz I can pass that info on to Jeremie to give to you.

Other than that it’s not too bad. Takes a little more time than the complete plug n play but you do it once and be done with it. Just make sure to get one of the devices I mentioned in note #2 above!

2011-2015 most will not require any wires spliced others may require one wire to be tapped. And the optional horn wire would be the only other connection.

2005-2009 kit is similar but requires one wire to be tapped and then the same optional horn connection as well.

2010 is a split year if your key has a DOT on the metal part then you would use the 05 - 09 kit. If it has a letter G on the metal part then it gets a little confusing. Majority could use the 11-15 kit but a small minority would need a different kit unfortunately that would require a few extra connections.

Kits are listed on our website.

any chance you'll make a kit for manual transmissions 2005-2009?
I'd buy one with the smartphone control

    Looks like an interesting option.

Has anyone done this? How did it work out?

Edit: And does this replace your factory remote, or do you have to carry multiple?
