Yeah, same was true in my area; I'm not sure why.

I ended up waiting a good 6+ months before finding the "right" 4Runner, and even so made a compromise - no locker. But really, it's a DD and family camping vehicle, so if I need a locker, I've done something wrong.

Finally got my stereo and amp installed. It took some work but I got the Alpine power pak amp installed in the dash . It was a pain in the ass but it better than running power and rca’s from some where else.
Sounds 100 times better and I havent even installed the Alpine speakers yet.

Ha! At the same step here! Finally decided to tear into my dash again and rewire some stuff along with installing the alpine power pack. Trying to squeeze it between the vent and ac controls... if not I'll go your route!

There's room there for sure for one of those and tons of room behind the passenger airbag. And even more room below the stereo and above the airbag controller

Yeah, wish I had 6+ months. Wife's Subaru grenaded the motor this weekend. I've been trying to get her out of her shitbox (subaru) and into a 4runner for years now. This is my chance, but looking for the right rig for the right price. Just can't seem to find one.

Completely agree. She had a '97 that was impossible to kill, and I tried on multiple occasions. Once it finally did bite the bullet, we bought her an '09 forester. The forester has been nothing but trouble (head gaskets twice @$3000 each, constant CEL's, eating oil etc). I fucking hate this car. I finally have her convinced that she needs a T4R, just trying to decide on years. Sucks that we have to deal with replacing her Subaru motor, but win that she has finally had enough with Subaru shitbox's!

That's a subaru for yah, weak block design, poor oiling and cooling systems, piston ringland sealing and cracking issues, now they have multiple valvetrain recalls. Bunch of money to have farty sounding engine that sucks to work on and even boosted makes sad power.

Really? I've been avoiding the V8 models. Not sure why, just not comfortable with the weird bastard child. Was hoping for the 4.0l. Realistically, we were gonna avoid the 4th gen altogether. Already have the wife sold on a 3rd gen T4R or 5th gen+ T4R. Hoping she goes for the 3rd gen because I already have the tools and knowledge with the 3.4l and drivetrain.

4.0 would be my choice as well, preferably after 07

Thanks, I'll check it out. I noticed the steering stops all worn down, so I'll see if that helps

thats because you don't have a stock bumper on it...and its lifted. that fucks the aero dynamics. What has happened when I put the Elite on Frank and the Relentless on Igor. Lost 2mpgs. I could get over 20mpg in Igor at times with 33s fully loaded. Now im usually around 17.

    Single cab well over 20.

and only slow due to the slush box haha

You’ll only find the wood trim on some Limited models. Some were dealer add-ons or owner modifications that were added later on.

Swapping it out really isn’t that difficult though. If you end up buying a Limited I could find you the base trim really easily. 3rd Gens are a dime a dozen.

So along with installing my Alpine deck and power pack amplifier , I just ordered a set on Mevotec adjustable uca’s from Rock Auto. They look to be rebadged SPC units and they were $468 shipped.

If its not that, the idler arm on those is somewhat common to go bad and clunk whenever turning.

I love my Milwaukee ratchet. I've been a fan of all my Milwaukee cordless stuff. Have only had one failure and that was the dumb trigger switch on the FUEL impact drill. I was drilling a shiz load of holes into cement floor for securing tackstrip to floor for carpeting. Took the drill to home depot and they swapped me a new one on the spot. I've put mine through the ringer, especially the big bad impact wrench. Nothing stops it

That's actually a lot of dirt. Mine would act up with just a spec of dust.

I was getting ~19-20mpg on my current road trip driving 65-70mph until I hit the 80mph speed limits in Idaho. Then I was getting ~16mpg.
2003 Double Cab, Automatic, V6, 32" KO2s, OEM driveline (4.10 gears). Yes, I have verified my odometer/speed offset with the larger tires.

I replaced the AFR sensor a month ago and dropped ~8 lbs per tire going to a Load Range C.
