Well I mean, maybe a camp. A little on the low side for a house.

Agreed. I was no where near $60k with my truck. I got a good deal on mine, but I'd have been able to get a decently dressed 3/4 ton diesel for $60k.

Plus, any fullsize/HD truck that MSRP for 60k these days is almost always easy to take 10k off of the price. I have seen plenty of adds for 10k+ or 20% off MSRP on some of these things.

Ain't getting no breaks on price over at the Jeep dealer for these things.

Or the Toyota dealer. They don't budge easily either.

I managed 4k off msrp, which isn't a ton I know. I also had to drive to another state 2 hours away to get one that would go that low. But you are right, Toyota doesn't budge much on things either. I've actually heard rumors of Toyota going to "no-haggle" pricing, or maybe it was individual dealers doing it. I'm not sure how I feel about that, because I think haggling is fun if possible and try in most mid/larger deals I make. Hell, just ordered a small chainsaw and worked them for some bar oil and an extra chain

I doubt Toyota will go back to the Scion method of selling cars. Toyota will sell cars to the dealers as normal and let the dealers deal with plebes like us.

The only 'no haggle' vehicle I ever bought was my current truck. I found it on cars.com and it was a screaming deal. I called the dealership (it's a father/son small operation) and the father actually told me "Don't think you're going to come out and negotiate, the price is the price". He said it politely and he also knew I was driving 2 hours just to see it so he wanted to make sure we weren't wasting each other's time. I also told him what Carmax was going to pay me for my truck and if he could match it, it's his. He told me flat out, 'If Carmax will pay that for your truck, sell it to them. I can't even sell it out here for what they're going to pay for it'. It was a very smooth deal after that. I went out, test drove it, put down a deposit, sold my truck to Carmax and brought a check to the dealership to finish the deal. It was awesome!

if only the no haggle pricing would keep things at a fair reasonable pricing, that would make life so much easier. When is the last time you got Walmart to knock off a few pennies on the price of a soda? You should be able to walk in to a car store (dealership) see the price and know that is what you will pay, just as the next person will pay the same, no bullshit games needed.

The problem with that is trade ins and the incentive programs. So many dealerships offer attractive pricing on a vehicle, but you have to be a disabled veteran, school teacher, AAA member, employee of the brand, new college grad and senior citizen to get that price. Then, there's the fun times negotiating the trade in value. They'll show you a great price on the new vehicle, then give you $5 for your trade

My step-mother works at a dealership now. She says because of all the online deals, dealerships are already selling vehicles cheaper than they'd like to. So negotiating isn't as easy today. Better off trying to negotiate for higher trade-in.

Don't buy beer from the bar at the new Encore casino. Pair nearly $10 for a bottle of Sam Adams

Yup, that’s the exact route we have planned! Got in to Tahoe tonight, staying here/Reno for a few nights and then on to Yosemite —> Sequoia NF —> Kings Canyon —> Zion —> Grand Canyon —> Bryce —> Arches —> MOAB —> Salt Lake —> Vegas.

    Roughly haha
